Re: It's been said before, but my GOD radio just SUCKS now!

Wish I could’ve gone to see Alex Bennett. We need more like him.

KFOG seriously declined and then switched to all-sports a few years ago (it was rumored Dead 105 would go all-sports but KFOG beat...

Re: The survival and revival of video stores and physical media

Just remembered one of the dumbest callers I had when I worked at Tower.com- if you remember, Shrek originally was a 2-disc set with both foolscreen and widescreen transfers, but then the foolscreen...

Re: The survival and revival of video stores and physical media

I saw that picture- why is it that almost EVERYONE who posts pictures shows it stretched? It’s like saying “Look at me, I’m an idiot!”

One jerk-off there even had some burned LDs with production...

Re: Best Buy to furlough 51,000 hourly employees

Obviously. And Legos. Those are the first things I go to any electronics store for, but forget those obsolete discs with hi-res audio formats and high bitrate video, it’s all about streaming in Dolby...

Re: VIDEOHEAVEN (2025, D: Alex Ross Perry) Documentary on Video Rental Stores

I heard they have a special “VHS section” there this month, ironic since Criterion never put out VHS tapes.

Re: The survival and revival of video stores and physical media

A lot of analog video enthusiasts say that, but I have to strongly disagree. Any analog video source shown properly on my 75-inch 4K screen
looks infinitely better than they did on my 40-inch CRT....

Re: The survival and revival of video stores and physical media

This is why I don't feel at all bad about hoarding several GOOD laserdisc players (with the proper audio outputs, which I have the proper equipment to connect them to) and about 3,732 laserdiscs at...

Re: The survival and revival of video stores and physical media

Articles like these bring up points that I brought up the first time I watched a streaming movie more than 15 years ago. Shortly after that was the first real case of having stuff taken away from...

Re: Last DVD you watched?

Been slowly going through all the Simpsons seasons, on Season 4 right now. Have 1-20 on disc with all the ones on Blu-Ray that were issued that way. Have all the episodes past season 20 through...

Re: Movie Theaters

They likely threw out their older film projector after getting digital, because they believed the lie that digital is the end-all be-all.

Re: Best Buy to furlough 51,000 hourly employees

The last substantial purchases I’ve made at Best Buy have been devices that help with that P word in some capacity, ironically. Really isn’t in their best interests to sell those things.

Re: Best Buy to furlough 51,000 hourly employees

“The cutting edge of what’s new”- so why didn’t they at least put in something that MIGHT be a suitable replacement for discs, like Kaleidoscape servers? I’ve never seen one of those work and...

Re: It's been said before, but my GOD radio just SUCKS now!

They’ve been playing those Casey Kasem reruns for a while now, would be a lot better if they included the original commercials. Those shows were originally played off of records and I have a few of...

Re: 10 year anniversary of 4K format launch

3 of those 6 movies were in 3D, which the 4K format isn’t even capable of.

I won a 4K disc of Transformers Last Knight from a Dolby contest, after I’d already gotten the 3D disc. I watched it (the...

Re: The Simpsons (FOX) -- Season 27 and beyond thread

There's a couch gag on this episode on Disney Plus through Canada, but it's missing in the US. Archiving both versions just because (the Canadian one also has an audio description track while the US...

Re: It's been said before, but my GOD radio just SUCKS now!

Talk radio just has too many commercials. I don’t even care what political agenda they’re trying to push, there’s so many commercials you can’t follow it anyways.

Don’t remember when the...

10 year anniversary of 4K format launch

Just saw that apparently 10 years ago today, yes on Valentine's Day, the 4K format was introduced. In March it will be 20 years since Blu-Ray was launched. Long past time to retire standard DVD,...

It's been said before, but my GOD radio just SUCKS now!

I have strong feelings about this because I wanted to work in radio a long time ago, am sure glad I didn't end up working in it as I probably would've hung myself by now. I've always had criticism of...

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.

Just too bad we can’t go into a store and actually see these things for ourselves.

Re: DVD Rot ?

Check the back cover- the plastic part of the case should have “MADE IN MEXICO” stamped on it. These are newer pressings from Technicolor which should be good for the most part, even though they...

Re: Scream (1996) 16:9 Anamorphic?

I had a Sony Blu-Ray player (gave it to my crazy ex-girlfriend) that responded to those zoom flags, none of my current players do. It cut off the subtitles when zooming anyways.
