Re: Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (Blu-ray & Ultra HD Blu-ray; 3/31/20)

They aren't part of the saga because they're not numbered episodes. The saga consists of the three trilogies, nothing more. (Unless Disney starts making more numbered episodes, in which case, I don't...

Re: Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (Blu-ray & Ultra HD Blu-ray; 3/31/20)

If I'm watching .mkv/.mp4 files I just use a USB thumb drive and plug it into my blu-ray player.

If you have a newer tv with a USB port, you can plug it directly into your tv, too. But my blu-ray...

Re: Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (Blu-ray & Ultra HD Blu-ray; 3/31/20)

Yeah, it goes back to the pre-Disney EU video games, novels, comic books, and the Tartakovsky Clone Wars series. They were, I believe, first dropped into regular canon in the Clone Wars CGI series...

Re: Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (Blu-ray & Ultra HD Blu-ray; 3/31/20)

Star Wars isn't for children. It's all-ages entertainment.

There were shitloads of teenagers and adults who went to see the original trilogy between 1977 and 1983.

It's the kind of thing that a...

Re: Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (Blu-ray & Ultra HD Blu-ray; 3/31/20)

I'm imagining a prequel trilogy directed by Guillermo del Toro, David Fincher, and Darren Aronofsky with Lucas executive producing and hiring actual writers to develop the story...

Re: Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (Blu-ray & Ultra HD Blu-ray; 3/31/20)

When I'm in charge of Lucasfilm, I'll make an Obi-Wan Kenobi movie that features Vader hunting down the remaining Jedi. I will then rechristen and rename Attack of the Clones as Episode I: The...

Re: Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (Blu-ray & Ultra HD Blu-ray; 3/31/20)

It's baffling that they didn't use the classic Empire Strikes Back poster for the steelbook.

I'm not a steelbook guy, but I'd be really pissed that my set didn't match if I was buying these.

Re: Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (Blu-ray & Ultra HD Blu-ray; 3/31/20)

That's still pushing it. Once money starts changing hands, even if it's just for equipment or whatever, it becomes a whole new ballgame.

Agreed here. Harmy needs to tread lightly. It probably...

Re: Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (Blu-ray & Ultra HD Blu-ray; 3/31/20)

Scrapping Detours is one of the rare bright spots in Disney ownership of Star Wars. I don't think the franchise needed a parody like that, and that Paramount is doing animated Star Trek series also...

Re: Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (Blu-ray & Ultra HD Blu-ray; 3/31/20)

Obi-Wan and Yoda going into exile and hiding was established in the OT. The Prequels sort of had to end that way.

Re: Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (Blu-ray & Ultra HD Blu-ray; 3/31/20)

Or, depending on how you feel about the prequel and sequel trilogies, $75 for three or $150 for six.

Re: Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (Blu-ray & Ultra HD Blu-ray; 3/31/20)

Man, I really hate that new key art. The thick black border is ugly and takes up a lot of real estate, the ships and laser swords that break the frame look gimmicky, and the monochromatic color...

Re: Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (Blu-ray & Ultra HD Blu-ray; 3/31/20)

When they re-released the Star Wars trilogy on VHS in 1995 it was advertised as the last chance to own the original trilogy, so we were warned.

Re: Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (Blu-ray & Ultra HD Blu-ray; 3/31/20)

When the UK Brexits out of the EU, their economy will tank, and the Star Wars blu-ray set will be able to be had for about $10 US when the pound devalues.

Re: Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (Blu-ray & Ultra HD Blu-ray; 3/31/20)

The price point seems questionable for what amounts to three good movies, three bad movies, and three pointless movies. I've already bought the OT twice on DVD (2004 boxed set, limited editions) and...

re: Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (Blu-ray & Ultra HD Blu-ray; 3/31/20)

Rogue One had a 3D blu-ray, too.

That was in the waning days of at home 3D.
