re: Star Wars

Hot damn!

And the Lucas BS is Lucas re-structuring the Saga with the addition of the Prequels. Yes, at a time, it was about Luke Skywalker. Now, it's about the Skywalker Family with Anakin as...

Re: To those that have cut back on collecting DVD/Blu-ray, what's the reason?

With one 2 year old and a new baby on the way, it's just gotten to the point where I can keep up anymore, nor do I want to. It's gotten tiring to do so.

Netflix has helped. But ultimately, I...

Re: A Nightmare on Elm Street (Bayer, 2010) --> The Reviews Thread

Thoroughly enjoyed this "re-imagining" of Krueger. In all honesty, I think by changing the circumstances of Krueger's backstory, they fixed a problem I've always had with the original series.

Re: Iron Man 2 - April 2010 (Favreau is directing)

Sounds as if this film is more like Blade II than anything else. I actually like that film but I know a lot of people felt Blade II didn't reach its potential as well.

Re: Minority Report - April 20, 2010

The PQ/AQ are reference, if ask me. The bonus features are in depth. This package is in my top ten, in terms of overall presentation.

Re: The Wolfman: Reviews Thread

Johnston's already said that the DVD/Blu Ray will come in an extended cut form of stuff "he would've left in." shocktillyoudrop.com has the interview with him that mentions this. From the looks of...

Re: Epic Star Wars : The Phantom Menance review in 7 parts

Coli,

I never said that Star Wars were always kids films. I said this particular film is...and it's meant to be because of the protagonist of the film and the overall saga. The tone is meant to...

Re: Epic Star Wars : The Phantom Menance review in 7 parts

The Prequels aren't off limits by fans but let's just keep things in perspective. It's only considered the one of the worst films ever just because of the expectations of the film because of it's...

Re: Entertainment Weekly and Rolling Stone's best of the decade

I was hoping that as the years have gone by, the polish of the Rings Trilogy would wear off. Guess not. It doesn't belong on any Top Ten of the Decade Lists.

Fellowship=Masterpiece(Extended...

Re: Warner's Double Dip continued...Harry Potter 1 and 2 "Ultimate" Editions

Bought both of these and these sets are well done by WB. I think these will be the "definitive" releases when the series is over.

If they do a major boxset, it'll just contain what comes with...

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - 10/20/09

Did the Shanghai sequence introduce all of the new Autobots but Jolt? I don't get the idea that they didn't introduce any robots at all.

Soundwave got an introduction. So did Wheelie (be it very...

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - 10/20/09

LOTR had extensive extras too but I never saw it as hyping up Peter Jackson, it was more about the movie than one man.

not really...

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - 10/20/09

JoshZ,

Now, do you really think that documentary showed everything what was really going on? Seriously? While pretty great in giving us a perspective of the overall production, it still doesn't...

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - 10/20/09

Why rail on a flick if we all know the problems the production had?

Seriously, you think Bay wanted to shoot a film of this scope on this schedule? Not excusing the film, even though it's my...

Re: Star Trek: Nov 17

They subtly go at Bay in the commentary, yet contradict themselves in the "making of" documentary.

Honestly, they have the perfect excuse for the writing troubles on Revenge...the writer's strike....

Re: Star Trek: Nov 17

The writers should've just gone with a straight reboot. Having this film in continuity with the overall series created some lazy writing on their part. It's the script that almost kills the...

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - 10/20/09

Get the "Big Screen Version" if you can everyone. First off, best Blu-Ray disc I have in terms of technical quality. Audio/Visual...second to none for live action. The added bonus is obviously the...

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - 10/20/09

I wouldn't say nobody gave a shit. I'm thinking the IMAX decision was a last, last minute decision and once they actually began using the cameras, considering Bay, he abandoned it pretty quickly.......

Re: Best price on "The Wizard of Oz"?

Guy at avsforum.com posted a small picture of the "supposed" Walmart version of Oz and it's housed in a regular blu ray case.

No information on how many discs.
