Best price on "The Wizard of Oz"?
I have been debating if I should pick up the grossly overpriced "Wizard of Oz" Blu-ray that is coming out next week.
Anybody know what the best price will be?
P.S. I wish they had not put so much crap in that set and given the public a quality 2 disc release with a few extras on it for half the price they are charging.

The UK version comes out on 11/02 and it's around $31 on Amazon.co.uk and it should be 100% region free from what I've heard. If that's the case, that's likely what I'll end up doing and just forget about this massive set.

Wait for the next WBshop.com sale/coupons. I think I paid around $40.

If you don't want to whole boxset of trinkets and random crap, wait a couple more days for the Target ad to leak, as there is a rumor right now that they may be getting an exclusive version of TWOZ without the big boxset of junk....

Someone at AVSforum has claimed they picked up an early copy of OZ at Walmart for only $19.99 in a regular plastic BD case....they didn't say if it was just one BD (for the film) or two BDs (with the film and special features)....maybe there is more than one store exclusive release for this one? Walmart did get a regular version of Woodstock, also released by Warner everywhere else in a fancy set, so it is possible....guess we shall see soon if it is true!

Don't you think that there easily could be more than one exclusive for this? There already is in fact, because Best Buy also has there own "exclusive" version of the big set with the four bonus lenticular postcards....

Guy at avsforum.com posted a small picture of the "supposed" Walmart version of Oz and it's housed in a regular blu ray case.
No information on how many discs.

I just logged on to avsforum.com to check the pic... it's really small, but it looks legit to me. I need more details to make up my mind between the Walmart and Target editions. If the Target one is like the German set I may spring for that, but otherwise $20 for it at Walmart sounds good - especially if it has all of the discs.

Here is the Walmart pic for any doubters, looks legit to me as well:

If this is just both Blu-ray Discs in a double case, I'm all over it....if for some reason it is just the one BD with the movie and no special features disc, my wife may want to go the Target route instead, we'll see...

PURE SPECULATION:
From the picture it seems like the Walmart version may just be the film on blu-ray and the Target version may have some extras? The Target cover art is different from the Walmart cover art.

The Digital Bits said the Target version has no trinkets, but he could just be assuming that.
