I've enjoyed several albums-The Strokes, Phoenix, David Bowie, Steven Wilson and My Bloody Valentine. Great stuff.

Steven Wilson has just released a new album, The Raven that Refused to Sing. Dare I say it's one of his best ever. Very progressive in places and some of it reminds me of King Crimson and early Yes....

I picked Sopranos. I really enjoyed Game of Thrones and True Blood as well as The Wire but to me The Sopranos rule. It really ushered a new wave of quality TV.

I enjoyed Star Trek and Super 8 but I give the nod to Whedon. I've seen all of Buffy, Angel and Firefly. I really liked Serenity and Avengers plus Cabin in the Woods. Fantastic stuff.

Re: What is the best decade of Scorsese?

This is a tough choice. I really like Taxi Driver and Mean Streets. But I have to vote for the eighties. Scorcese had a great run there- Raging Bull, King of Comedy, After Hours, Color of...

Re: What was the first foreign film you ever saw?

Confession- I've never seen a Godzilla film apart from that terrible 1998 Hollywood film with Matthew Broderick. Crouching Tiger was a marvellous movie as was Amelie. I also liked Run Lola Run from...

What was the first foreign film you ever saw?

For me it was Wings of Desire at the cinema. I must admit that I didn't enjoy the experience at the time, given that I had to read subtitles and thought the film was too arty. But now I recognise it...

Re: Peter Hyams - Most Mediocre Filmmaker Alive?

Count me in as a fan of Outland too. And Timecop is the only Van Damme film I like apart from JCVD.

I'd give Signals, Grace under Pressure and Counterparts a listen. They are very strong albums. I personally like Power Windows and Hold Your Fire which sound great sonically but do rely heavily on...

Are you a fan of the band Rush?

Rush is definitely a band that polarises music fans. They either really like the group or cannot stand them. So do you like them or not?

Re: One hit wonder films eg. Napoleon Dynamite

His first film Young Einstein did quite well here in Australia but his next two films Reckless Kelly and Mr Accident flopped and he hasn't directed anything since.

Re: One hit wonder films eg. Napoleon Dynamite

I enjoyed Zach Braff's film Garden State when it came out but that's the only film he's directed since 2004. Come to think of it, he hasn't had a high profile since Scrubs ended.
