I've only seen Spinal tap from Guest. And all the Python films. Guess I need more Guest.

I really like This is Spinal Tap and Waiting for Guffman but I have to go with Monty Python. The only one of theirs I'm not fond of is Meaning of Life.

Although their total output is a little thin and Holy Grail is waaay overrated, Life of Brian and "Every Sperm is Sacred" are so great it puts the Python crew over the top.

Monty Python. I grew up with them (at least through my party years anyway), bought 3 of their LPs, one of which has 3 sides.

Wait, what? 3 sides? Is that a joke or something?

So wait, you've been skipping the third side on all our records? Dude, you've been missing out.

Ok, there were extra grooves on one side of the record, giving two "sides" on one side.

I've never played a record. I've heard them played from my friends and family. But I myself have never handled one.

The closest thing for an apples/apples comparison would be the mockumentaries This is Spinal Tap vs. The Rutles: All You Need is Cash, which really isn't a Python project. It was written and co-directed by Eric Idle, but I think he's the only member of the troupe involved.
