Re: Politics & World Events (Reverse) Sheep, Round 2 — Electric Obama-Loo

Alright, let's have a discussion on this right off the bat. These teams are being questioned. I don't see what any of them have to do with standard patriotic American ideals or symbols. Note: Symbols used on the logo do not count. I'm looking at the name.

San Francisco 49ers. Um...

DC United, whose logo looks like they play for Albania

New York Yankees. I actually think they're fine but I hate the team so much I'm going to put it under questioning.

New York Rangers. Yeah, no.

United seems patriotic since its in the name of our country, but I go with No just so it'll help me

While we're discussing and taking your opinions, let's look at unique answers.

Dallas Cowboys: Birrman54

New England Revolution: wmansir

And... that's it.

I'm against the Yankees simply because I hate that fucking team.

It is a bald eagle on the United logo.

I vote yes on United and the Yankee, no on 49ers and Rangers.

DC United is a stretch, but I could go for it. No on all the others mentioned except for the Yankees.

I vote no on the Cowboys. If you're talking about Texas patriotism, sure.

First of all, doesn't the fact that the sport is soccer negate the whole American patriotic thing?

One could argue the Revolution isn't patriotic but I'd let that slide.

Rangers could be affiliated with the Army Rangers which one could argue is patriotic.

Oh, I'd say yes to the Yankees. The whole Yankee Doodle Dandee and crap would get them a pass.

At the risk of facing the wrath of wendersfan, I'm with CRM on the soccer thing.

I think the only way to resolve this is to throw out the question and subtract 40 points from my score.

Good point. I change my vote to "We aren't European." I also think that cowboys are not patriotic.
