Re: The VINYL Thread!
Not totally vinyl related, but I picked up a pair of Pioneer SP-BS22's yesterday to replaced my old and inadequate JBL home theater in a box speakers that I was using for my main system. I know this series isn't going to go toe to toe with $1500+ speakers, but for under $100 they're a serious upgrade to my system. My vinyl has never sounded so good.
I know this has been covered before, but I don't want to wade through this thread...
I'm finally ditching the Crosley and getting a proper turntable. Assuming I buy these speakers, and I use an old Sony HTIB amp unit, what's a good (read: $200 or less) turntable that can satisfy my simple needs?

Spun 3 vinyls this morning:
Metric: Synthetica (I think I like Pagans in Vegas more)
A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night (fucking phenomenal soundtrack!)
Gone Girl - (awesome score, as well)

I'd love to get that but not for the price they're charging. I already have the Mondo Mr. Freeze 7" that was a SDCC exclusive last year and the die cut Bat shaped 12" plus the three La La Land CD releases so I can't really justify dropping $250 on that set. I'd mostly want it for the covers to potentially frame up but I think I'll just take a chance at an actual print from the series someday (I have one on the way from Mondo and have another from a different artist).

Re: The VINYL Thread!
Got the vinyl Bowie set today for 219 locally. My wife says it's my Christms present and I am done for the year!
Also thought I'd show you guys what the system is looking like these days. My dad brought over his new full frame Nikon and 24-70mm lens. Thought I'd get some better pics than my usual iPhone shots.

Yeah it's definitely a nice set and as a huge fan of the show I'd love to own it but it's just a bit too much. If I didn't own all the releases I do I'd be more open to considering it but with everything I already have I don't feel like I need to drop that kind of money on it.

Re: The VINYL Thread!
Was at Amoeba over the weekend and scooped up the Trick r treat orange vinyl score. Of course Waxwork announced on their Facebook page that the score would be only $15 from their site. I paid $25 for mine, so whatever.
I preordered the John Carpenter remixed album from Sacred Bones directly and opted for the blue & white swirl limited edition. That one is limited to 150 copies and their deluxe limited edition is limited to 350 copies. I used paypal and used the "pay after delivery" option. That shit comes in handy.

Re: The VINYL Thread!
I recently got the reissue of David Bowie Heathen.
Also, the MFSL editions of Miles Davis that have come out recently are ridiculously great. I have most of them now. I still need Round About Midnight, Kind of Blue, Miles In the Sky, and Filles de Kilimanjaro. Highly recommended for jazz fans.
