Re: The VINYL Thread!
Oh, and an update on my Kiss blue marble Revenge copy. Looks like it's also signed and numbered by Bruce Kulick. The bummer is that he signed it right on the fucking vinyl Looks like that one will get no play on my turntable ride. I'll be ordering the new reissue one that's being released in a week or two. Price be damned on that one since I really wanted to spin it.

Re: The VINYL Thread!
If you ever wanted to see a mastering studio with cutting lathe here ya go. Fascinating stuff.

Interesting opinions on pressing plants. Bernie Grundman is the one cutting the low cost digital to analog blue note reissues.

Stopped off at Amoeba for some LP's. Scored:
Let the Right One - Dealth Waltz (score)
Fu Manchu - Action Is Go (color vinyl)
Fu Manchu - Eatin' Dust (color vinyl)
Fu Manchu - Signs of Infinite Power (color vinyl)
Fu Manchu - No One Rides For Free (color vinyl)
Yeah, I like me some Fu Manchu. Got into them back in 2002 when they released the "Squash that Fly" single:

This week's latest pick up...
...may well be their best album yet. Cost a wee bit more, but had to opt for the limited edition, hot pink vinyl. Just because.

My wife, who is being pretty supportive of my new hobby, asked if I'd pick up a Janis Joplin record for her. In searching Amazon, came across this set:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B006C6...&pi=SX200_QL40
$39.99 for four LPs

Re: The VINYL Thread!
I took a small road trip to the Princeton Record Exchange this weekend. Aside from going to the nice college town of Princeton, NJ, the store was a disappointment. They have voluminous amounts of CD, DVD, and BD and a decent vinyl selection but the local store here is way better for vinyl. Princeton has very little punk or any records of any age/value. I was hoping the fill in some of my holes but found prominent bands with empty sections. Too bad.
I picked up some new vinyl (they did have a lot of new vinyl):
Laura Marling - I Speak Because I Can (I'm captivated by this person)
St. Vincent - Strange Mercy
Foxygen - No Destruction 7"
And used:
Rolling Stones - Beggars' Banquet (1st press)
Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark - Dazzle Ships
Van Morrison - Tupelo Honey (orig)
Neil Young - Everybody Knows This is Nowhere (orig)
I also got a BD of Velvet Goldmine for $7 and a CD copy of Belle & Sebastian Push Barman…

Nice!
Walking Dead in green goes up today at 1 PM EST
http://www.spacelab9.com
I'd be more inclined to order that one but may not be near a computer.

Re: The VINYL Thread!
Urban outfitters is having a sale. They have vinyl as you guys know. $50 off $150
http://m.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/m...52523U00613790
Almost a deal good enough for DVDTalks early days!
I took the opportunity to buy a couple of pricey double LP 45 RPM Coltrane reissues and also the Time Out reissue. I'm sure some of you guys can load up on a lot more than 3. Prices are pretty much standard.
