The VINYL Thread!

Re: The VINYL Thread!
I didn't get out to RSD on Saturday, but I stopped by a couple of favorite shops earlier today. Didn't have much hope of getting the Ramones record, and that proved to be an accurate assessment. But I did get The Smithereens' recording of The Who's Tommy, and the Gary Crowley punk and new wave comp. That's a real crap shoot, as I've been burned on compilation LPs several times in the past, but not to the tune of $35 like this one. Still, it's from my favorite period of music so I'm hoping for the best with it.

Re: The VINYL Thread!
So whats been up in the vinyl world for everyone?! This thread has really.... died! Have we all gone back to downloads?
Ive been getting into a label called Cadabra Records, they do spoken word records and some of the sexiest variants out there with something called, "waxmage"
Also been having more fun getting obscure release or underground releases. Mostly metal, like Merlin, Khemmis, Glass Apple Bonzi. Tons of great stuff out there.

Picked up this Pioneer a few weeks ago for $60 at an estate sale, this is my 4th turntable now since I’ve gotten back into vinyl the past 18 months, I won’t mention the crazy amount of vinyl I’ve added since, but I usually hit a tag sale every week to keep adding to the obsession... good fun..

I was there, and coincidentally enough, I did score some vinyl. Not Big Trouble, but at another dealer who had old soundtracks. I picked up the soundtrack for Get Crazy, a movie I've literally never heard of. But it was just loaded with songs from favorite bands that I haven't seen on any other record. Specifically, Ramones, Sparks, Fear, and Marshall Crenshaw. After some post-Con research, I see that the Ramones song is available on an extended cut of Pleasant Dreams, but the other songs are all unique to this particular record. A nice find.

I've found the cheapest way to buy new vinyl these days is to wait for an ebay 15-20% off coupon and then go to import cd's and buy 60 dollars worth of vinyl to get the 20% off. Stacking the 2 coupons I bought the following at an average of 12 dollars a piece:

Nice, been doing the same as I try to build a Bowie vinyl collection. Caught the last day of the Bowie exhibit show at the Brooklyn museum last week, good stuff and picked up this exclusive.
Also the dealsonvinyl website is pretty good to spot Amazon deals

Huh? How does this work? I am getting an eBay coupon but using it on a website? Is that like an error or something?

eBay does have the periodic coupon that works across the board as well. Usually see it as a banner display on their app.

Import cd's is an eBay seller. They have about 35 thousand records as part of a deal where if you spend $60 or more its 20% off your entire order. Then like Geofferson said, eBay puts out a 15-20% off your entire order coupon every month or so. And when that happens you can stack the 2 coupons.
