They arrested a third person with I believe ties to Iraq. I also read a day or two back that chemicals were found in the apartment of one of the suspects. Beyond glad this was thwarted, it sounds like there legit could have been an attack during her concert.

Thanks Taylor for putting an end to Kanye's run of albums at #1 on release.

Pretty cool collaboration with Ed Sheeran for Night 1 at Wembley.

Chappell Roan was about to take the top spot in the US charts this week. Guess what? Taylor released more variants of TSTTPD. If something happens once it can be written off (Olivia Rodrigo). Twice (Billie Eilish) and it can be a coincidence. Three (Charli XCX), four (Sabrina Carpenter, five (Chappell Roan) times and it's a plot. This was probably Roan's only chance to get to one because Post Malone has an album coming out.

Even Garth Brooks thinks that Taylor Swift has no shame with rerererererererererererererereleasing the same album over and over.

I have no idea who would buy multiple copies of the same digital items to get just a couple of live recordings. I haven't even bought it once.

In other Taylor news, there have been all sorts of hints that she will announce Reputation TV tonight at her London show. We'll know in a few hours.

I love Chappell and it would have been amazing for her album to hit number 1, but if Taylor didn't do the re-release thing again (which I kinda hate) Kanye would have been #1 not Chappell, unless I'm missing something.

It's pretty clear this was an anti-Kanye move. She included a live version of "thanK you aIMee" but this time spelled it "thank You aimeE".

The Darkness’ Justin Hawkins on Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce ‘I Believe in a Thing Called Love’ Duet: ‘Heartwarming’

As a clip of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce belting the lyrics to The Darkness‘ “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” began to go viral, the rock band’s frontman Justin Hawkins took to TikTok to divulge his own experience with the pop star’s music. In a 90-second video Monday, Hawkins described the “extraordinary” hospitality he received while attending the Eras Tour with his daughter and partner.

“There was a man on a golf buggy guiding us in to the main stadium,” Hawkins said. “They put us in a lovely VIP area. I had Chris Rock on one side, Roger Federer on the other side.”

As Hawkins arrived in the VIP area, he found a handwritten letter from Swift.

“What a thrill to have you at the show!” Swift wrote to Hawkins. “I’m a massive fan of yours and think ‘I Believe in a Thing Called Love’ is one of the greatest songs of all time. I hope you and your family have fun at the show! Thanks so much for coming!”
https://twitter.com/usopen/status/1832908209838751747As Hawkins woke up to an outpouring of messages about Swift and Kelce singing his 2003 hit, he called the moment “heartwarming,” thanked the celebrity couple for the surprise, and said his daughter “can’t wait to tell her friends at school.”

“I was just dad of the year,” Hawkins said. “Maybe dad of the century.”

Swift, wearing a denim corset, matching shorts, and thigh-high, red boots, made waves Sept. 5 as she arrived at the Kansas City Chiefs‘ season opener in support of her boyfriend Kelce. The appearance was just a day after Kelce’s PR team shut down false claims about a “comprehensive media plan” for Kelce’s relationships “following breakup with Taylor Swift.”

Swift also made several appearances in a 30-second NFL promo video. As the video recapped the 2023-2024 football season, Swift was seen cheering Kansas City tight end Kelce, capturing the NFL’s obsession with the globe-trotting pop star.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

Does she have a Bob Dylan phase or it will come in the future where she makes a album addressing social, political, or environmental issues or that will never happen?

Who knows what the future holds for her career, now that she is going to lose all her fans for supporting Harris.

Making protest songs seems to have fallen out of the zeitgeist.

Seems like once you go in that direction, it becomes your identity as an artist like RATM or Ani DiFranco.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

I mean folklore/evermore were her Dylan phase. At least her "I'm a legit singer/songwriter' phase. I really love those albums because they show her ability to write songs that are thoughtful, melodic, not relying on hooks and beats, and not necessarily drawn from personal experiences (and grievances).

Agreed... I prefer folklore over evermore but love both.

That’s why they were formed. Tom Morello still does them and did them with Prophets of Rage.

Pearl Jam still does them. Wreckage is about Trump. There’s This is America by Childish Gambino. I Can't Breathe by H.E.R. Thoughts and Prayer by Drive by Truckers. Even Kid Rock’s got one for the right. And that country guy too.

Yeah Aldean's was the one I thought you were referring to. Or maybe Oliver but you are right I don't think he set out to become beloved by the right.

Taylor has surpassed Rihanna as the wealthiest female musician. $1.6B. Only a year ago she joined the billionaires club.

And of course the VAST majority of Rhianna wealth was not from her music, but rather her makeup and lingerie lines.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

Taylor Swift has not put out an incredibly over-priced perfume for 10 years. She could have been to $2 billion by now!
