Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

The countries surrounding Singapore are pissed she did not take the Eras tour to their countries

Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong was called on during a key regional summit on Tuesday to defend an exclusive deal his city-state struck with Taylor Swift that prevents the pop star taking her current Eras Tour to anywhere else in Southeast Asia.

Swift is performing six concerts from March 2 to 9 in Singapore under an exclusive deal that has been criticized by some Southeast Asian neighbors who complain they have been deprived of the tourist boom that her concerts have brought elsewhere.

In a sign of the international phenomenon that Swift has become, the veteran Singaporean statesman was asked by a journalist to confirm the deal and to comment on whether it undermined the spirit of cooperation of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, a 10-nation bloc known by the acronym ASEAN of which Singapore is a key member.

I wonder how many big bands tour SE Asia, I was just in Manila - first time - and Ed Sheeran was coming up this week, didn't see much else.

Filipino woman spends about $6K to see Taylor in Singapore. She must have been saving because that’s a big chunk of an average yearly income for Filipino people.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

Maybe they don't have the arenas or stadiums or the adequate facilities for big concerts in those countries.

I thought India would have a lot of them but they don't.

They have plenty of facilities. There are cricket pitches up and down the country that could do 50,000-80,000 for a concert. Historically India has never been a big draw for major Western artists. It comes down to money. Artists just can’t charge that much because people, especially girls and young women, don’t have the money or would not use it on a foreign artist. It’s slowly changing though. Last year probably had the most big name foreign artists ever. Lollapalooza had a weekend to start this year but even then you are looking at 60,000 over two days. Having said that, given the current state and climate of the country, I would avoid it on principle and I’m Indian.

Just got Munich Tickets for the end of July.. Cheaper than the Mexico ones - 600$ for floor. Flights a little more expensive, but Munich is a very fun city..

The compilation of “secret” acoustic songs is an extra feature on D+.

Had this on as background today. Looks like they restored all the songs that were cut from the theoretical release. The extra songs are again tacked on to the back end.

Nope. I would guess a rights issue and that this is a Swift movie. They could probably put out a full album of the guest spots from this tour (Marcus Mumford, Aaron Dessner, Phoebe Bridgers, Jack Antonoff, Ice Spice, Haim, Maren Morris and Gracie Abrahams.)

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

Tvline had a post up that expressed surprise that the Eras concert did not break Disney+ due to what one presumes would be a very high demand to stream it shortly after it was released, but I think D+ is a tiny bit glitchy due to the concert. I just got through watching the concert all the way to the end and the timer said I still had 1 hour 12 minutes to go before the end, lol.

it is not an Apple TV 4K device issue, as I watched the premier of season 7 of 9-1-1 and it played correctly.

My daughter couldn't stream it the moment it went live (she was trying to DL it at the airport), but it worked about 5 minutes later.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

Too bad they don't have menus or chapters for each song or track like you do with Blu-rays.

Sucks Style and Wildest Dreams were rushed so she could do more of the long piano songs.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

I watched about half of it, had to pause because it was getting late.

Maybe this has already been widely discussed, but does anyone else think Taylor's voice is a little hoarse in the movie?

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

I just noticed that the first track off of her new album has Post Malone on it. Guess I will have to do some editing and burn the my own version to CD-R to listen to. I removed all of the hiphop/rappers from all of the past Madonna, Lady Gaga and Lana Del Rey albums with the exception of the one Lana Del Rey song that the Weekend is on. Mostly because he only sings on it.

I also had to lop off the two songs that Post Malone are on on Ozzy Osbourne's Ordinary Man. I would rather have my teeth drilled while my toes are being dipped in acid than listen to Post Malone.

Did Post Malone steal your teddy bear? Screw your mama? Kick sand in your face when you were a child?

I can't take anyone seriously with facial tattoos like Post Malone or Jelly Roll.

They look like they passed out a frat party.
