Has Dr Pepper released details on how to get the free soda?
I feel sorry for GNR fans, I was never a huge fan but recognized the talent they "had".
15 years of waiting, and this... is it.
Then again, it's really GNRINO, Without the other members it's just Axel and his
copyrights.

This is all I have seen, but probably enough:

Beginning Sunday at 12:01 a.m., coupons for a free 20-ounce soda will be available for 24 hours on Dr Pepper's Web site. They'll be honored until Feb. 28.

Imagine if they told the truth and slammed it for being a very bad Elton John album?

Nope. Not a thing.
At least "My World" was recorded during a period when, contextually, it could at least be considered a G-N-R track. I get no such vibe from ANY of the new tracks. There are no less than five guitarists who contributed, maybe more, regardless of what Axl admits to. There is no G-N-R anymore; this ridiculously over-produced piece of shit confirms it without doubt.
At best, it sounds like a poor and pale imitation; a crappy "tribute" band, and I use the word "tribute" loosely.
All of this is, of course, IMNSHO.

Except, per the new book Watch You Bleed, the other Gunners had no idea My World was going to be there and signed off on UYI2 after the alternate Don't Cry. The band members found out after the fact that Axl threw his techno experiment on there. It was a solo Axl track.

Does anyone else think the cover, with the bicycle, makes this look like an old album by The Smiths?

Exactly. When the others approved ("signed off on") the album, the album had Dont Cry (alt) as the final track. Axl added My World after the others already signed their album approval contracts.

I've heard some of the tracks and realized the only reason I don't like them is....Axl. I forgot how much I dislike his voice. I loved AFD despite his voice - so many great riffs and solos.
This one doesn't even sound like GN'R, but there's some cool music there. Just bad vocals.

I've never been a big fan of Axl's vocals, but the more I listen to classic GnR, the more I think he's talented at projecting his personality into his vocals. More of a Mick Jagger approach than a Freddie Mercury. The problem with the recent stuff is that his vocals are flat and over processed in much of what I've heard. Between the lack of Slash and the lack of dynamics in his vocals, there's nothing left to identify this as GnR anymore.

Wow. I'll admit I'm only a fan of a few songs from their debut, but I almost don't have words for what I just listened to. I sure hope Tommy Stinson was paid a huge stash of dough for his time.
