Does he still get to sit there in the front row after assaulting somebody on live television?

Chris Rock handled that really well. He instantly made a joke, being the comedian that he is, as Smith cussed him out and recomposed and managed to give out the award.

I don't know how they would do it, but I'm kind of hoping they don't give him the Oscar now for his outrageous behavior. At a minimum I hope he's banned from future Oscars.

To make matters stranger, you can see that Smith laughed at the joke after Rock made it. Jada instantly looked uncomfortable,though. When they cut back to Rock, Smith must have saw how his wife was hurt by the comment and turned to anger. Probably why Rock was caught so off guard because he'd just seen Smith laugh at the joke.

I'm already seeing comments about Rock somehow deserving it. The justification for physical violence is sickening and is the sort of thing Hollywood would be quick to condemn if it were violence against women or if this incident had been a white actor assaulting a black man. The reaction would've have been swift and very different I'm sure.
