Is he retiring from martial arts again? Or from action movies this time?

I haven't heard any official confirmation or anything, his career just seems to be slowing down and I assume his days of being Wong Fei Hung are coming to a close. He's getting older, lets face it, he probably won't be in any condition to be leaping around like he does much longer.

Didn't he have Corey Yuen on EX2? I know Yuen was on EX1.
I haven't heard anything about retiring. I just know that he isn't doing those big Kung Fu flicks anymore.

You can have standards but some people on here (not just you) set the bar so high for themselves for what they expect certain films to be that it's no wonder that they turn out disappointed. Honestly if you can't watch movies like these without trying to say something so absurd as it's funner punching yourself in the face for 90 minutes or that a root canal is more amazing than you're setting the bar too damn high. Seriously just have some fun with it or stop watching movies like these because apparently you can find no joy in something that's not meant to be some high class action film or something. These aren't films that you critique for every minor imperfection, all they're supposed to be are time killers with some of our favorite action stars in one set of films.
I don't watch these movies with an eye to criticize every little thing. The movies are so bad that you'd have to be blind to not see all of the massive, insurmountable problems. And I have no problem with shut off your brain movies if they're fun, like the Fast and Furious films. The Expendables is a bunch of aging action stars who can't tell good from bad anymore, and it shows.

Re: The Expendables 3
Yuen Kwai is listed as "Jet Li's fight choreographer," and his Hong Kong crew are listed as "Jet Li's fight team" in The Expendables. I think the only bit he did was the Li-Lundgren throwdown though, I think the final tag-team fight with Statham was Stahelski. As regards The Expendables 2, I actually wondered about that for a while, I drove my friends nuts on the way out talking about it since they didn't care. Li's sequence clearly had a Hong Kong flavor that was different from the rest of the fights, but in the list of fight choreographers and stunt coordinators of folks like Stahelski and Don Thai at the end, no one showed up who looked like he'd be the one responsible. A normal, well-adjusted person who actually gets laid once in a while probably wouldn't have cared, but it bugged me. So when the movie finally came out on video, I solved the mystery: buried deep in the end credits is a section that says "Hong Kong unit," and list "Dee Dee Ku" as the fight choreographer for said unit. A bit of quick research showed me that Dee Dee Ku was actually an English-language alias for Guk Hin-Chiu, an old cohort of Yuen Woo Ping who's worked on such classics as The Tai-Chi Master, Black Mask, Iron Monkey, Fists of Legend, and some other lesser stuff like God of Gamblers III: Back to Shanghai, and Tiger Cage III. My curiosity was at last sated.

The Statham fight in the church also had an HK vibe to it. Not so much the sequences that they intercut around it. But the stuff with Statham in the church was likely choreographed by whomever choreographed Jet Li's fight in the kitchen.

Even if he wanted to, there just isn't a market for them anymore anyway. He's done some period pieces and stuff since then, but the golden age of Hong Kong action cinema has come and gone. And thanks to Harvey Weinstein's endless fuckery, it's hard to find good DVDs of most of it either.

Re: The Expendables 3
EXCLUSIVE: Remember when Nicolas Cage was supposed to join the ensemble of action stars of Millennium Films’ The Expendables 3? Well, guess what, that role is going to Kelsey Grammer. Grammer is near a deal to play the role of Bonaparte, an ex-mercenary who helps the Expendables in their mission. While Grammer was long identified for playing the mild-mannered shrink-turned radio host Dr. Frasier Crane, he has transformed into a Hollywood tough guy. Most of that came from him playing the ferocious powerbroker in the series Boss. Michael Bay was a fan of that show, which led to Grammer being cast as the villain in Transformers: Age Of Extinction.
UTA-repped Grammer joins a cast that includes Sly Stallone, Jason Statham, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Terry Crews, Antonio Banderas, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren and Wesley Snipes. Grammer also worked recently with Stallone in the John Herzfeld-directed Reach Me, so he certainly was on Stallone’s radar and Sly is the catalyst for all that happens with this action film franchise. Grammer also has a new series in the works with Martin Lawrence for Lionsgate, which releases the Expendables films.

Terry Crews is starring on the FOX comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
I wonder how he's filming both of these simultaneously, especially since Expendables is shooting in Europe.

It's only filming for a few more weeks and I'm sure they started shooting additional B99 episodes after it was picked up in May, so I'm sure they have a few of the 12 remaining episodes shot.
He did Expendables 2 while filming Are We There Yet, I'm sure he has it figured out.,
