If they have Wesley, they need Woody.

And if they have Woody, they definitely need Diane or Mia.

Still wish we had Kurt Russell in this. It would add a massive amount of awesome.

Bruce Willis has caught the De Niro bug....acting is no longer a craft, just a way to make as much money as you can.

Are you sure about that? Desperado came out only 6 weeks before Assassins.

I remember watching an interview and he mentioned that it was after seeing him in something that he handpicked him for the role. It could have been Interview with a Vampire, I guess. I know they filmed Desperado in the Fall of '94, so Assassins would have been filmed right after. Maybe he saw a rough cut? Not sure. I do know that Sly chose him for the role in Assassins.

They need to find a way to get Samuel L. Jackson in one of these sequels. They can throw Travolta in too if they want (Lord knows he's done enough take-the-money-and-run movies).

Cool, Travolta could play the leader of a whacked out cultist religious group that kidnaps all of the "legit" religious leaders and holds them for ransom.

Unless Jackson is being directed by Tarantino, he almost never turns in a performance that's anything other than him being Sam Jackson. And that shit is old at this point.

Possibly, but I don't think not taking a part in The Expendables 3 is a good example to make your point.

Re: The Expendables 3

Last thing we need in these movies is for Samuel L. Jackson to come in and repeat his same old schtick. Can't he see that the other actors in this franchise are trying to stretch their acting muscles?

I don't care if he does this or not but IMO Django Unchained happens to be one of his best acting performances in a while.

Neither are Wesley Snipes and Antonio Banderas.

And Ford isn't in his 50s or 60s anymore, either!

Jackie mentioned in the past that he doesn't star in movies with excessive violence, curse words or sex/nudity.

Re: The Expendables 3

Instead of Jackie or Donnie, they should seek out the Hong Kong counterpart of Stallone/Schwarzenegger, et al, and that would be none other than...Sammo Hung!

Re: The Expendables 3

There's a problem with that. Sammo is not a counterpart to Arnold. Arnold is Arnold. They're too different.
And I love Sammo.

Talking about Sammo. Has there been a BD release of Eastern Condors anywhere? Goddamn, I love that movie.

Not as much as I am, I assure you.

Have there been any DVD or BR releases of HK flicks have been proper presentations? You could probably count them off on one hand. God, it sucks almost as much being an HK cinema fan as it does being an OOT fan. Anyway, does Hung ever sleep? Even after heart surgery, he seems to be choreographing and starring in movies pretty regularly. Shame he never had much crossover success in the US. And yes, apparently there is BR release of Eastern Condors.

Looking forward to seeing Ford be badass again. He'll probably be in self-parody mode, but hey, who in this franchise isn't?
