Re: The Expendables 3

They should just make Hale Caesar the President. Terry Crews has played the role of President before:

Re: The Expendables 3

Harrison Ford is always fun to watch but his projects are really nothing that I've been jazzed about in a long time. The fact that Willis declined must say something about the direction this is going. He seems to do anything for a buck.

Wow, That's pretty unexpected. Harrison Ford seemed to be on the downside of his career taking smaller scale jobs. I'm curious to see what role Sly has for him.

I'm sure we'll have a dumb, cutesy little twist, like he uses a whip or some such shit.

Someone asked Sly what happened between him and Willis and responded with:

GREEDY AND LAZY ...... A SURE FORMULA FOR CAREER FAILURE

Damn!

Damn. Sad to read that he and Willis had a falling out. That kills my dream that one of these movies would stop teasing us and just star Stallone, Willis, and Schwarzenegger in equal leading roles with the rest of the cast as an ensemble, instead of a Stallone-Statham buddy movie with everyone else as guest cameos.

A lot of folks are calling Stallone a hypocrite for that comment. Then again, Willis has never had a case of a stalled career like Stallone did. In fact, every other story I hear about Willis is that he's a major asshole and a pain in the ass to work with, etc. Hell, some would say that he's been phoning it in his last half dozen performances or so.

At least Sly came back very much humbled.

Re: The Expendables 3

I think Expendables 2 gave us all the Stallone/Willis/Schwarzenegger action we need. They teamed up and blew the shit out of Van-Damme's crew of baddies. Nuff done.

Yeah he had to write and direct himself (and get funding) back into feature films.. and probably is in the best shape out of those guys. Love that he's made this last push in his 60's. Arnold looks to be doing the same, as long as he can get projects.

Oh, great, another role for Harrison Bored to sleepwalk through. Let's hope it's short and sweet.

And Willis has totally been phoning it in for years now. Really don't care that he's out, to be honest.

You can say he could be a hypocrite but he also speaks from experience since that's essentially what killed his career in the late 90's. And lets be honest, Willis has been lazy for awhile. He reminds me of the actor who knows his career is on the downswing and agrees to star in whatever he can just to get money. It wouldn't surprise me if he wanted more money for less work.

Though hearing about Ford being in it doesn't really impress me since he's basically in the same boat right now.

Stallone doesn't pull any punches anymore and is willing to take a smaller payday to get the bigger profile. He famously called Carl Weathers out (referred to him as Apollo Greed) for demanding an outrageous sum of money to use archival footage of himself in "Rocky Balboa" when the budget was already extremely low.

I remember that but didn't know he called him out like that. That's pretty funny.

Got no problem with Willis being out, he looked like the only person not having fun in EX2.

Ford better use a whip and take off some bad guys arm.

Re: The Expendables 3

He kind of wrapped up Willis's character in no. 2 at the end, but I dont know why Ford will be in no. 3. I have never thought of him as the same type of acton star as Sly and Arnold. Hopefully his role will be brief.

Re: The Expendables 3

Deep down, I think many people are missing the sarcasm in Stallone's response. Especially since there's a crack about being "Lazy" which is something I've never heard mentioned about Willis. Dis-interested? Possibly, just look at Die Hard 5.

I hope he'll reprise his Jack Ryan role. That would really bring everyone's expectation upside down!

Willis was a CIA agent, I think Ford would fit right into that role.

Re: The Expendables 3

You know, for a movie that's trying to get out by next August, they seem to have very little done. They have a director and the script is being written, and with the exception of Arnold and Ford, no one appears to have been locked in to actually appear in this movie. It makes me wonder what is going on with it, and if there just really rushing production

Re: The Expendables 3

I love Bruce but I'm cool with this. I'm interested in seeing Ford in action films again even if his role may or may not be action centered.

Now, can we ditch Snipes?

I do wish to see that or take off someone's head with the whip. That would make it the best film ever made!

Re: The Expendables 3

Stallone's Tweet confirms what Kevin Smith has been saying about Willis for a few years now. That, plus the way Willis treated that reporter a couple weeks back kind of backs up the story that Willis is no longer about doing quality work and all about collecting a paycheck.
