Since I watched this the other night - a 20 yr/old employee of mine saw Die Hard 3 sitting on the table. He said that he never heard of Die Hard movies.

I fired him.

Just put swearing back into the film!

For fucks sake.

I loved Live Free Or Die Hard, and I have to commend Wiseman. I personally thought it was the second best film of the series, which was surprising because I thought it would suck hard. The original, of course stands out. The film had excellent camera work, very little CG, real stunts and sets, and competent performances from the actors. The action sequences were great as well.

That said, I'm not sure I'm interested in another one.

Noam Murro apparently already dropped out of Die Hard 5.

FOX is looking at the following directors:
Joe Cornish
Justin Lin
Nicolas Winding Refn
John Moore

Part 5 is going to be shot in Russia.

I choose Nicolas Winding Refn. Drive looks awesome.

haha, seriously?

Die Hard 5 should become a spoof of itself so Ben Stiller needs to direct it and play the baddie. I mean its like Final Destination 5 now does this shit really happen this many times?

Justin Lin....if he could make me watch and enjoy a Fast and Furious movie (Fast Five)...he can get me to watch a new Die Hard.

....if I believed in it. I only saw Die Hard 4 cuz it was in the BD set I got as a gift. Not the worst film ever but damn...the sound editing is pretty bad on some of the dialogue..and of course...the story is weak as shit. Fun movie though..and I don't hope to watch another like it in terms of another DH.

From what I've heard and read, that's because Wiseman shot the film as an R rated film with the cursing, and the studio cut it up for a PG-13 rating.

Justin Lin has already committed to Fast and Furious 6, which I assume would start production sometime next year. With the prep work needed for that movie and doing this movie, I don't think it's feasible for him to do 2 large scale productions like this back to back.

Ha! Totally called the Eastern Europe thing; hopefully Refn will get this and they do make it with a culture clash partner. Want to see good teamwork and banter on top of some great action; no more reluctant, middling shit.

Isn't he in the running for the next Terminator as well? He could probably knock out a "Fast/Furious" movie in his sleep by now.

I think it's hilarious that Joe Cornish is being courted to direct a $150 million action film.

Agreed! He has some talent, but he'd be the last person I'd go to for a film of this type. Then again, maybe he will surprise, if he gets a chance at this film.

Doesn't make sense, in the Unrated cut, the dubbing is still awful in almost all of the same places. The added profanity occurs almost entirely when characters mouths are obscured/covered.

I wasn't the biggest fan of Attack the Block, but I will point out that that film takes place entirely in and around a single apartment high-rise...

'Die Hard 5' to Be Directed by John Moore
Bruce Willis will return to reprise his role in the decades long 20th Century Fox franchise.
4:29 PM PDT 8/31/2011 by ( Borys Kit)

After a long search, 20th Century Fox has settled on studio mainstay John Moore to direct Die Hard 5, the latest in the decades long Bruce Willis action franchise.

Moore is now in negotiations to helm the movie, which will see Willis return to star as John McClaine.

The move is not a surprise as Moore's name kept surfacing even as the studio looked at names such as Fast Five helmet (sic) Justin Lin, Nicolas Refn of Drive and Attack the Block's Joe Cornish. The derby was set in motion when Noam Murro, who was slated to direct, left to take on Warner Bros.'s 300 sequel 300: Battle of Artemisia.

The new Die Hard movie has a script by Skip Woods and is said to feature McClaine's son, with some saying Fox may be setting up a passing of the baton.

All of Moore's features - which begin with 2001's Behind Enemy Lines starring Owen Wilson and Gene Hackman, include Flight of the Phoenix and a remake of The Omen, and end with Max Payne - have been for Fox.
