Still no card but the app had an update tonight and now I can see the last 4 digits of my card.

Same here. They were just not prepared for this much response. I don't blame them. Hardly anyone was talking about movie pass before the price drop. Most people never heard of it and then the media picked up on the news. Crazy that they were charging some people $99 for unlimited just a few months ago.

They knew it would get a huge response. That's why they did it.

They had multi-million dollar bonus terms in their acquisition agreement that were based on reaching 150,000 subscribers within a year. I'm sure it was all negotiated in good faith, but the new owner also doesn't want to give movie away so easily.

There are softball targets and then there's reaching a one year target in two days.

yeah that may be a problem for some of the bigger movies, as like the AMC in White Marsh has only showed Hitman's Bodyguard in Dolby Cinema. I assume some theaters will do that for certain movies that they don't want to put in multiple rooms.

Oh, and it was an independent theater; not a chain. This is all despite the theater being listed in the MoviePass app.

So just one instance that I'm aware of this happening. Hopefully it's not a trend.
Soooo...pay for the ticket and have MP reimburse you

I used MoviePass at the counter at AMC on Saturday Night. No issues whatsoever.

Did they have signage about not accepting MP? Maybe some AMCs don't care.

Still no card for me and I was charged twice on Aug. 15th. Three weeks is my limit then I'll file a chargeback. Ridiculous to pay for a service that I can't use 3/4 of the month. In previous memberships, Moviepass did not charge me until I activated the card.

What's ridiculous is that people who ordered on the 17th and later are getting their cards already, while lots of people who ordered on the 15th/16th still have nothing.

I ordered 2 one on the 15th and one a week later. Still haven't gotten either.

I was charged 9.95 on the 20th.

I may still wait while they iron out these issues.

Don't they not start your first month until you login and click the "received card" button? I guess I assumed they would charge the initial month, and then a month after I clicked on the button, I would get charged again, and then that day would be the recurring date. Is that not correct?

I'm anxious to get mine, but not worked up about it yet. I used Paypal and it just shows preapproved payment on there.

Got my card yesterday. Took about 10 days to get here. I don't know if I'm going to keep this going or not. I'd have to drive 20 miles to the nearest participating theater, when I have a perfectly good theater less than a mile away.

You are correct! You are charged for your first month upfront, but that first month doesn't actually begin until you activate the card.

Still no card being delivered today. ordered like midnight on the 16th. People ordering on the 19th or later are now getting their cards. This is getting frustrating. People are ordering second cards thinking that they'll get there sooner than the original cards.

I got mine today. Northern VA seems to be a good area for this, I have 10 theaters within 10 miles, including my favorite little art house theater. I guess the journey begins.

Edit: for the record, I ordered on 8/18

I checked my app today and it looks like a card number is there, but no physical card yet.

For the record, I ordered on the 16th.

I have not been billed yet. I recall when I signed up, it said I had a free 1 month trial, which is odd. Seems like most of you are getting billed right away.

Still waiting on my card, but I apparently have a number now, and ALL of my local theaters are listed as participating. I believe I saw somewhere that accounts will be adjusted as cards are activated.

Yes, my understanding is that even if you were charged right away, your month doesn't actually start until the first time you use it. If there's a card number showing up in the app, then it means there's a card printed and on the way. The card will have your name embossed on it, which I honestly wasn't expecting.
