Superman: The Man of Steel (D: Snyder)

Just from the tone of it added w/ the voiceover. It seems like we may get some hope there for sure. Becoming that man. The hardest thing that individual has to decide on. great stuff.
EDIT: would like to add that...did Snyder get all Malick there for a bit? I mean, i didn't expect his regular style on this but...really liked the visuals of kid in the grass, butterfly on that swing chain, etc.

Honestly, I hope you're right. I'm in the minority in that I didn't think Singer's was awful at all. It could have been a lot better, but to me it wasn't a disaster as most say it is. Singer had the look nailed down, at the very least. As for Snyder, I liked 300 a lot, but after Watchmen and Sucker Punch, I'm not holding out any hope for his version.

The trailer they're running in theaters/have released online isn't 1/10th as good as the one they ran at ComicCon - I have no idea why they didn't stick with the ComicCon one - that one got me pumped for the film...this one they have in theaters now is pretty bland.

The movie looked terrible, IMO. Nothing felt right at all about that movie. The plot was drab and lifeless, true, but even just to "look" at the movie it felt pretty unremarkable. That costume, with the muted colors and tiny S-shield... oy...

Hopefully with an actual decent script, and with Nolan watching over him, Snyder can deliver a good movie. I have hope. He is an excellent visual director, but needs to be directing someone else's script (and have a few of his more excessive tendencies reeled in).

I hope this new movie gets Supes out of the cinematic slump he's been in for the last quarter of a century.
Between DC Comics two flagship characters in the last 25 years:
For Batman: 8 feature films (I'm counting Mask of the Phantasm since it was in theaters).
For Superman: 2 feature films--Superman IV: The Quest for Peace and Superman Returns--yikes!
"Superman, you're just in slump, you'll be great again! You can hear, me can't you?"

I hope they get around to a Wonder Woman movie someday. Ridiculous that DC's third flagship character hasn't had a single movie, ever.
Bet they're wishing they'd kept that Whedon script now.

Those saying the trailer had a Nolan feel...didn't the marketing department put this together? Do the directors/producers have much of a say in these things?
I think people are giving Nolan a bit too much credit.

There may have been just enough room on the IMAX platter to fit the Superman trailer, but I'm glad they didn't add it. The film is dangerously close to the edge of the platter as it is.

Saw it in front of TDKR and the audience reaction was fairly non-existent.

^That's because people are so cynical nowadays that no one gives a shit about Superman.
People clapped at my showing but it was so forced. This movie will have to be extremely well-done to even have a chance.
