Superman: The Man of Steel (D: Snyder)

We know that this isn't a sequel to Superman Returns, Snyder is directing, Hans Zimmer is composing, Nolan and Goyer have consulted. |
re: Superman: The Man of Steel (D: Snyder)
So did Richard Lester take over the new thread yet.

As long as they don't get Zack Snyder to direct, I'm in!

re: Superman: The Man of Steel (D: Snyder)
I'm looking forward to this movie if for no other reason than to finally see a different take on Superman.

I dunno... "New Superman" just doesn't have a nice ring to it. Couldn't they have come up with a better title?

Superman Rises ?

re: Superman: The Man of Steel (D: Snyder)
Is the title actually New Superman? I thought that was just to refer to it being a new film coming out soon, i.e. a working title.
There's no way they'd call it something like that is there? |

I believe the actual title will be Superduperman.

I like "the Red-Blue Blur".

re: Superman: The Man of Steel (D: Snyder)
Here are my suggestions:
<s>It's A Bird!</s> <s>It's A Plane!</s> It's Superman! --- In all seriousness, why not just title it Superman or The Man Of Steel? I'm actually not a big fan of Superman at all, but think it would be cool to have a Superman movie called The Last Son Of Krypton. Doubt the marketing people would go for that though. |

And it's the story of how Jor-El and Jonathan Kent were antiquities dealers but had a falling out when Kal-El (who for reasons unexplained renamed himself Clark Kent) decided to be a treasure hunter. He teams up with his best pal Perry White and gets double crossed by old friend Lex Luthor. Hilarity ensues. |
re: Superman: The Man of Steel (D: Snyder)
Out of everything that has been released since X-men got the ball rolling 10 years ago, Watchmen is still my favorite comic book adaptation by a good margin. More importantly, the alterations that Synder made were all improvements imo, so I'm cautiously optimistic here (though ironically Goode was the only element of the entire production I felt was a little weak).
Also very happy to see the clean break in regards to the score. I still have the LP set from the original film I bought in '78. Needless to say it's one of my favorite film scores of all time. But there's no going back. I want to see original pieces of work from here on out, that stand or fall on their own merits and with their own identities. Zimmer may not have produced any iconic themes, but his work usually underscores the action on the screen well. I like that it's more in support of story rather than a showcase for its own self. And the music from Backdraft that was posted on AICN seemed wonderfully Superman-esque to me. |

I just want to repost this, because Han Zimmer can certainly make inspirational kick-ass music:
