You mean there is actually another movie that dares come out the same day as The Expendables?

And Suprmallet and this Armond White character (whom I only know exists because of his being mentioned in this forum) both didn't like Inception. Are they in fact both one and the same?

I still gave Inception 3.5 stars in my review. I don't think Armond White was that kind.
Edit: I just read Armond White's review. He gives it 4.5 stars but still manages to piss everyone off by using the whole thing as a soapbox from which to attack Quentin Tarantino.

Saw it again tonight. Now that I knew what to expect, it was even better. The first time, I was so caught up in the whirlwind that Wright constructs that I wasn't able to catch my breath. But it holds up on a second viewing, and allowed me to appreciate the slower scenes, which felt faster the first time around. I now feel safe in saying that this and Toy Story 3 are the two best films I've seen this year.

4th time here.
It's interesting to see it twice with the new ending. I felt that they really did set up the other ending a bit better and though it moved away from the book's ending, did work.
Either way, still one of the best movies of the summer. Really enjoyed it and you'll see it a couple of times just because.

You're both wrong. It's the words "The End" written in the same font as the Scott Pilgrim logo. YOUR BOTH NOT TRUE FANS GWAR!

Just chiming in to say that I LOVED this fucking movie!
And anyone who doesn't is just being an asshole. Really.
For the record, I'm not a huge fan of the comic (I've read the first 5).
But this movie is something else - pure, unbridled Wright!

And as far as one (positive) reviewer's take on how it's about "the triumph of the little guy vs. the big guys", NO, you didn't get it. Scott's a likable but selfish ass - sorta like a young Homer Simpson. It's more about growing up and becoming a man.
This Chud reviewer gets it:
This Chud reviewer gets it:
There's a remarkable emotional maturity at the center of the film, with the idea that self respect is intimately tied with personal responsibility, which is a prerequisite for any relationship to take hold. It's a movie that begins with simple infatuation and ends with characters coming to deep understandings of themselves and how they impact the people around them.

I can't believe this movie got made.
Seriously...I've been looking forward to it, but I can't believe that the end product is what we got. That a room full of executives somewhere didn't look at any aspect and say to themselves "UH...we think about 200 people will even understand this." It easily tops any achievement in the world ever in anything.
Whoever greenlit this and got the fuck out of the way deserves a Nobel Prize. There isn't enough hyperbole in existence to do this movie justice. (Including that sentence.)
Simply amazing.

I think they had soooo many test screenings before. I had to at least hear about 6 and ended up attending 3 of them. They must not have believed each of the raving positive test screenings and kept on doing it again and again.
