I think it has an excellent chance. Too bad it'll only get to keep that record for a few months.

I'm calling it: The Avengers will be better than The Dark Knight Rises.

Its been said before, but its really amazing that Marvel has pulled off the hat trick with these movies. I only wish JLA could get a movie like this.

Agree 100%

I'm not a Marvel fan but I can't deny the great job they've done with all the film and pulling them together.

DC...GET OFF YOUR ASS!!!!

Maybe. At the very least...MORE FUN.

But then again, I'm not interested in "Funny Batman".

Trailer looked pretty good IMO.

On a different note, is it too much to ask people who make these blockbuster trailers to quit using that Inception music for whenever they have money shots?

Because when you're actually watching the film you won't give a fuck. Not one.

Nope. The early word is that it's damn good but not mindblowing. Yes, people have seen this film. And there are some issues with the plotting and characterization, although the action is said to be spectacular. Not sure how much any of this kind of thing can be fixed in a month and a half. We'll see. But right now, I'd put money on Nolan not disappointing in the least.

No. None of these characters in their own movies was very good except for the first Iron Man. Now this is all of sudden going to make that kind of leap. I don't think so.

After TDK I'd have said the same, but after Inception I'm wary.

Yes because Inception was such a failure. If you didn't like it fine but making it sound like Inception was some catastrophe is illogical. The film received an Oscar nomination for Best Picture, won 4, made almost $300 million and was very well reviewed.

It also happened to be a huge letdown from a filmmaker who is usually smarter than that script.

There is a certain irony in your gif choice given how how much Supernatural was influenced by Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Can't the Nolan fanboys go back into their own thread?

It's my fault. I will refrain from discussing Nolan in this thread anymore.

I don't even like Whedon much but here I am conceding to and defending the guy: He is great at what he does. Seriously. He just needs to stick to television. That's where he excels. That is not a jibe. It's what he's best at and god bless him for it. Hopefully The Avengers proves me wrong. But honestly, I am going to be very surprised if I like it anywhere near the way I liked Serenity: The Movie.

ftr, I still love Alien:Resurrection.

And great fucking trailer. One of the best i've seen, sets up the characters, the team, why they're together, and what kind of troubles they'll have perfectly. So awesome.

Agree 100% but.......I'm a little sad that I won't discover this nugget while watching the film. IN X-Men II when Nightcrawler saved Rogue from a similiar free fall, the audience erupted. Would love to have a similiar reaction while watching this.

Really, really liked the footage of Hulk running behind Black Widow and the dialogue between BW and Hawkeye with Natasha saying that they weren't trained for this. Kinda takes away the argument from the naysayers asking why their were nonpowered players in the Avengers.
