I haven't done a midnight screening since TDK, so I went ahead and got some tix for tonight. The hype is just too much, and I'm dying to see this.

I was going to get there around 10:30 since it's at a local theater most people don't use. The bigger crowds will be going to another theater, which I'm wisely avoiding.

Well, I have a dilemma. I really would like to see this in IMAX but I can't figure out what theater is real IMAX or LieMAX. The only official one we have here is downtown, but it's playing Wrath of the Titans and Dark Shadows. The next closest is a LieMAX where I saw The Dark Knight.

There's only one other one I'd be willing to drive to since it's like 45 minutes away but I can't tell if it's real or not. Is there a website that has a list?

I was lucky and got to catch The Dark Knight during a private screening a few hours before midnight.

When we caught The Hunger Games at midnight in IMAX, there was already a line when we got there at 10pm. Before that, I can't even remember the last time we went to a midnight screening other than Fast Five which we got to the theater around 10:30pm for.

I'm almost certain there are no IMAX film prints of The Avengers, so it's going to be digital.

Click on the theater.

It'll tell you which format it is.

D stands for digital.

15/70 stands for film.

And Supermallet is correct, no 70mm prints exist for the IMAX Avengers as its only playing in the format for a week. All 3D and digital.

Thank you. That helps.

Guess it doesn't matter if it's LieMAX or not, then.
