The sequels were bloated, but I did like At World's End better than Dead Man's Chest. I'm more excited about the 4th film simply because no Orlando Bloom.

To me, the sequels felt like they were overlong extended versions for DVD/BD, but Disney decided to just release them in the theater.

If Depp, Cruz, Rush, and McShane are all indeed confirmed, then I will definitely check this one out. I actually didn't find At World's End as off putting as others, so I'm still a fan, I just think the franchise needed a break.

I'm glad they are choosing to shoot in 3D instead of doing the half ass post fake-3D crap. I'm fairly upbeat for this film. Dead Man's Chest dragged plenty in parts, but I thought At World's End was much better paced and a stronger movie. Just knowing this story doesn't involve Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann is an added bonus.

I thought McShane was already a done deal. If they can't get him or Rush, then this movie is going to suffer major from the lack of a good antagonist (Barbossa seemed to turn more into that role as opposed to villain in the third one). For all we know, Rush might still be in it, but in cameo like the end of part II.

I don't think he needs to be in a major role as much as a supporting one. I could see a new series of movies with him playing the coyote to Sparrow's road runner in way. There will be a major bad guy, who in this case seems to be Blackbeard, and then Barbossa as the lesser foe and sometimes reluctant ally of Jack.
