Perhaps Peter should be a cinematographer now since that's the hot ticket these days and work on film sets.

bluray.com, eh? *sigh* I'll have to check it out.

edit:

Yep, the fuck is doing his thing there too and people don't like it there either:

chris_sc77: 105 mins run time. ugh. means I will definitely not be seeing this in theaters. Maybe the $1 movie house but a big let down from the almost 3hr. run time false rumor.

Also, the embargo on reviews might be lifted this week. DF says word of mouth afterward was mixed, with the biggest Spidey fan he knows telling him he thought it was a travesty.
Outstanding.

That's a full hour off the rough cut I saw last year.

That doesn't help. Still don't know who that is or why it matters, but whatever.

But the exact same plot worked so well in Hulk!

BJacks, I know the Bugle isn't featured, I was making a jest about reasons to not include Jameson in the film.

That is true (and I must again stress I was joking earlier), but more and more sites and aggregates are pulling pictures snapped for free from online, sometimes giving them attribution, or just using stock pics in situations where it might not be as important to get an on-site pic.

I'd go with BBFC there. They even have the footage! 12250+8 (feet + frames) is indeed just over 136 minutes of film. Also, bear in mind when it says they classified the film on 1/6/12, that means June 1st (none of this weird "The US writes dates month first, not smallest time unit to biggest" nonsense).

Nick, why snap? Devin Faraci is a journalist who writes about film online, and has been active for many years.

Okay, but I've just learned over the years to take internet journalists' views with a grain of salt, mainly because there's such a strong bias most of the time, usually against whatever the subject is. I've honestly never heard of this guy, though. Doesn't make much difference to me either way.

You're certainly right to do so. I extend the same to any journalist who tries to inject too much of their own opinion into their reporting. Faraci's coarse, but he knows what audiences like.

I never heard if him. Maybe when someone here references someone they cOuld mention who it is and why that person was referenced. I wasn't like it was Ebert who is universally known.

The first review calls it "Spider-Man for the Twilight generation."

So does that mean Lizard sparkles in sunlight?

No but Sipdey's costume does. That's why he only fights crime at night.

...that review is kind of weak. Sounds like a good film, interesting thing he said about the film and Gwen.

Yeah, I don't think comparing it to Twilight is really a good thing to do. Twilight has a bad reputation among most people that aren't teenage girls, and my initial thought was that he was going to say the movie sucked. He didn't really say anything bad at all about it though. It sounds pretty decent the way he described it.

Re: Spider-Man (2012, Marc Webb)

Maybe I was off about the running time; it felt like it went by fairly quickly. Hard to remember when it started and ended.

I definitely wouldn't call this the Twilight of superhero movies. If anything it's the Garden State of superhero movies (which makes sense given Webb directed 500 Days of Summer).

There are some corny bits but it feels like a movie from the comic books which is nice. I enjoyed Garfield more than Tobey, I thought he got the character traits right, like the sarcastic quips and all that. And the Lizard is quite imposing.

So the guy parks the car, and literally two seconds later the thief comes and breaks in. When did Spidey have time to get into the back seat and how did he even get in himself without breaking in since it was locked?

And the cop shoots at him from about two or three feet away and Spidey dodges with ease. Sure Spidey has dodged gunfire in the comics, but it has always been long range, not extreme close range like that. He is fast, but certainly not that fast. He isn't the Flash.

Re: Spider-Man (2012, Marc Webb)

Or is he?

Saw that scene yesterday. That part confused me. How'd he get in? But I do like the webswinging.

Also about that. We do see spidey swing in the day. Remember the 1st person. View...in the day.
