I dunno. I wanted to like it but the trailer was hum-drum.

Looked good to me.
I'm a biased fan of Spider-man so it will be hard to disappoint me no matter what it is.
I'm just happy to see him on the big screen again I guess.

I finally nailed down what the trailer reminded me of. A FANTASTIC FOUR film. You have famous faces, loud noises, bright colors, a strand of plot, and a bunch of cluttered action.

This is by far my least anticipated comic book movie of 2012, and this trailer does nothing to change that (although I love all of the cast). I'll still see it, unless it gets terrible reviews, in which case I'm happy to see Marc Webb helm a bomb.

Why?

Anyway, this looks like it could be great. Spider-man was never going to be The Dark Knight, so I don't know what people were expecting. I'm just hoping it's better than those shitty movies Raimi put out. Based on the trailer, it has the potential to be.

And the scene where he dodged the bullets looked awesome.

And finally, after three failures they finally look to have given spidey the sarcastic sense of humor that he has in the comics. I don't understand why they completely overlooked that in the Raimi films. McGuire played the part entirely too earnest.

Can anyone tell me what the hell he said after Gwen replied "It's twenty stories"?

looks good to me. I'll see it eventually thru netflix or redbox.

I liked the scene in the back of the cab. That was all classic Spider-man. He is supposed to make bad jokes. He isn't supposed to be some emo whiny kid like Raimi portrayed at all. He is supposed to tell Doc Ock he should rent himself as a children's amusement park ride and make fat jokes to Kingpin. That's what Spider-man does.

I think its interesting that Captain Stacy apparently is against Spider-man in this movie. That's the complete opposite of the comics where he supported Spider-man and even right before he died he told Spider-man that he had known for a long time that he was actually Peter Parker and he wanted him to take good care of Gwen.

"Your doorman's intimidating."

I just have no deisre to see this for some reason. Looks well made, I just think Batman Rises is where I'm cutting off this summer's comic book hero movie watching.

I think it looks halfway decent. I actually like the suit more than the previous movies.

I'm excited. Garfield seems like he'll be able to pull off the "Spidey-wit" much better than Maguire. Plus, Emma Stone :D.

I definitely don't like the look of the Lizard though.

I think it looks pretty fun but I really cannot get excited about another origin story, especially one that is redoing one that is barely a decade old.

It looked horrible in still shots, but it wasn't so horrible in action. Its much more a classic Ditko Lizard than modern Lizard. The only real complaint I have is that he needs to be wearing his lab coat. Naked Lizard doesn't work well. If he had the coat, he would look much more like what people are expecting.

I don't mind because this is going to be much closer to the comic book source material than the Raimi movies were. Its like Nolan's Batman compared to Burton's Batman.

Re: Spider-Man (2012, Marc Webb)

Count me among those who liked it. And the costume looked great with proper lighting.

That said, it bugs me that Conners seems to be an outright villain. I'm more used to him being a tragic figure. Is this something new from the current comics?

Re: Spider-Man (2012, Marc Webb)

Dennis Leary annoys me, so I don't like that he's Captain Stacy.

The Lizard still looks like a goomba from the Mario movie.

The cab scene was idiotic.

With that said, I know I'll end up seeing it.

Spoiler:
You'll be disappointed to know the opposite happens and instead we get Stacy giving him the speech, that was Tobey's monologue at the end of Raimi's Spider-man, about staying away from those he loves because he'll attract danger to them and to walk away from Gwen.

Re: Spider-Man (2012, Marc Webb)

Things i liked:

1) Non-organic web shooters. A+.

2) Back of Cab/Car scene - i agree that it is more of the spidey wit that he's supposed to have. The guy talks through EVERY fight he's in.

3) Action shots of the lizard

What I didn't like:

1) Another origin story, we don't need that.

2) Just like Raimi's spider-man, Parker is without his mask WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much while in costume. Spidey is the one marvel character who STILL keeps his secret identity close to the chest, even when hanging out with the fantastic four, Avengers, etc.

3) Still don't like the lizard's look. I know it's faithful to Ditko's lizard - i personally wish he had more of a snout, and he definitely needs the lab coat.

When's the last time you read a comic? Spidey publicly revealed his identity on national television in the Civil War storyarc. But then One More Day erased that, but the less said about OMD the better.

Why would the general public care about Spider-Man's secret identity? Oh, he's... a guy I've never heard of before. Okay then.

Well it apparently crashed the internet as the entire world simultaneously googled "Peter Parker."

Is this month recent enough?

I did read Civil War - but as you said, that was wiped out. So he STILL (as of this month) keeps his identity close. He keeps his mask on at all times, even while hanging out in Avengers Mansion.

Even with Civil War, that was a gut-wrenching decision by parker, and he thought he was doing the right thing (which he then went back on). He doesn't run around without his mask all willy-nilly.

Civil War was in 2006-2007, One More Day was in 2007, so that is less than one year of storyline with him revealing his identity out of > 50 years of his existence (yes, i realize there may be times when other characters/villains found out, can't think of any specifics off the top of my head)

Why wouldn't they care about a masked hero with super powers? Most people would be curious who it is, even if it's a nobody.

Meanwhile, I liked the trailer. Better then the teaser that we got before, and my hopes are much higher then they were before.

I'm mixed on this trailer. I liked the look, the costume and some of the scenes (I don't even mind the Lizard) but something seemed off with the dialogue but that's probably where it was placed than anything. I'll probably see it the week after (since I hate packed theaters).

Because 500 Days of Summer was an overrated cloying piece of garbage and no one should be rewarded for that with one of the biggest properties in the world.
