Weird, i'd say the second one has the contrast cranked up and the first one posted looks better.

Regardless, doesn't look too bad at all. Of all the super hero movie costumes, i'm glad that they've been able to consistently get the Spidey costume right.

My question is, what materials are these superheroes making their costumes out of? I know Peter Parker is a science whiz, but you'd think when it came to designing a suit he'd just use fabric.

While that would be more realistic, you don't have a billion dollar movie starring this guy:

I agree, but I always find it weird that superheroes have costumes that make them look like they're geniuses of textile manufacturing.

Let me read to see how he comes up with the suit. I've had a copy for weeks, but have just been too lazy to read it. The info I gave earlier was what I got from skimming an earlier version.

I like the new look. I thought for sure we'd find out if Ifans was playing The Lizard long before getting a photo of Garfield in the new outfit. At this point, why still keep the villains a secret?

Still no casting news for J.J. either.

The casting for JJ has to be perfect cuz to play JJ you have to really hit those beats the best. Simmons was JJ. And he was awesome.

Supermallet 01-13-11 08:58 PM

Re: Spider-Man (2012, Marc Webb)

I'm hoping the JJ they get is a little less cartoonish. Simmons was perfect for Raimi's Spider-Man, but he's more grizzled in the comics. You know who would be interesting casting for that role? Kevin Kline.

Suit looks good, but Tobey's was damn near perfect, so it would be hard to top that. Kid looks a little skinny too.

Kevin Kline would be pretty good.

Kind of odd how we already have a glimpse of Spider-Man in costume, despite it being nearly year and a half away, but we still haven't seen the costumes for X-Men: First Class. Doesn't that one open this summer?

I'm glad about that. Spidey was really skinny when he started out. It wasn't until later on that he started looking more bulked up.

Correct.

Spiderman was 15yrs old when he started swinging.

Re: Spider-Man (2012, Marc Webb)

Looks fantastic.

I always hated the Tobey suit. It looked pudgy, the fake muscles looked off, and the raised metallic webbing was an eye sore.

With this one pic, Garfield looks more like Spider-Man to me than Tobey ever did in 3 movies. Not just the suit, but Garfields frame and even demeanor in that picture.

After seing The Social Network, Im 100% rooting for Garfield to make the role his own.

.....uh....those muscles were Maguire's I believe unless the suit added something.

Re: Spider-Man (2012, Marc Webb)

I could swear I remember reading, at least during the first Spider-Man movie, in some discussion about early shots of Spidey that they had said it was pretty much all Tobey. I could be mis-remembering though.
