Does Bay mean it'll be like Battle: Los Angeles?

that's good news in my book. Black Hawk Down is currently the defnitive modernn combat film. Battle: Los Angeles gives out a BHD vibe as well, and it's my most anticipated film coming up this summer.

I'm in the same boat as RocShemp - looks like a fun way to spend 2+ hours watching big robots blow shit up. I'll never defend Bay as a filmmaker, but I like that he's seemingly so in tune with his audience. I believe him when he mentions the deficiences that led to TF2 being sub-par, so I have hope he'll knock this final (for him, likely) installment out of the park.

And I loved the SB spot. The man knows how to cut trailers.

Entertainment Weekly reveal the designs for Sentinel Prime, Megatron, and the Ark (the autobot ship)

http://insidemovies.ew.com/2011/02/1...3-hasbro-toys/

Call me crazy, but the Prime design is excellent on almost all fronts, and the design for Megatron continues to improve with each movie. Love his cloak.

Yeah, I'm digging the designs.

And I actually like Megatron repurposing a tarp as a cloak. But how far he's fallen from a Decepticon that refused to take an Earth mode because it was so beneath him.

This new trailer shows more cars but almost same footage as Superbowl commercial:

Re: Transformers 3 Announced

TF3 is the cover on the newest Empire

Does and Don'ts for TF3:
1. No sand
2. No "dorky" humor ("we wanted to make the movie much more serious, more adult)
3. When robots die, they're really going to die and we're gonna show that
4. We're not bringing people back
5. Give the robots more 'weight' in the story ("They were missed in movie two. We've given them a strong back-story and pathos")

New companions for Starscream, Shockwave and the rest

"The scale on one of them is jawdropping" - "It will be 'what the Hell was that thing?"

No army for this, Chicago is left up to the 'Bots but some heroes sneak in through the back-door so to speak
Are scans allowed here?

I like
"5. Give the robots more 'weight' in the story ("They were missed in movie two. We've given them a strong back-story and pathos")"

Well, you do know you are the ones to blame for that. Don't you?

I've got this issue but not got round to reading it yet. I'm looking forward to this one alot. Really like the idea of being trapped in the city.

They altered the design of OPs head to look more like the original cartoon. It used to be much longer in movies 1 and 2

It looked like Sam was about to orally rape it. Poor ugly ducky.

I think it's just the angle of the shot. He looks the same to me. Anyhoo, those posters look great.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced

....talk about really getting the people to geek out. I think it's pretty cool. Hopefully this film is better than the 1st and nowhere near as bad as the 2nd. By looking at SP...I can kind of see facial structure akin to Nimoy..somewhat.

via FilmSchoolRejects

I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of Leonard Nimoy, but he’s a veteran actor that has been around the scene for quite a while. I’m told he’s famous for playing something called A Spock in one of the Star Wars movies, but personally I can only place him as being the guy who played Paul McGuire on a 1983 episode of T.J. Hooker. Anyways, fans of all things science fiction have been given reason to rejoice as Inside Movies is reporting that Nimoy has signed on to voice the character of Sentinel Prime in Michael Bay’s third film in his Transformers series. Sentinel Prime is the robot that led the Autobots before Optimus Prime, and whose wreckage we saw astronauts exploring in the film’s stylish teaser trailer. Neat.

No matter what you feel about Michael Bay or his movies, if you grew up watching Nimoy and playing with Transformer action figures, then this has to give you at least some sort of nostalgic tingle in your geek heart. Huge Transformers fans probably already know that Nimoy voiced Galvatron in the 1986 animated Transformers: The Movie, so the nostalgia thing is working on multiple levels here. When talking about why it has taken until the third movie to get Nimoy on board this franchise, Michael Bay was quoted as saying, “I was too scared to ask him. Plus, he’s married to Susan Bay, who’s a cousin of mine. So I had to be careful. I’ve met him at family functions. But he told me, ‘I would be honored. I’m glad to be back!’” I can understand Bay’s fear. I myself would do everything I could to avoid pissing Nimoy off and having some sort of Jedi mind trick played on me

Re: Transformers 3 Announced

It's funny, but looking at SP I kinda envisioned Nimoy as doing his voice. Glad to hear he's on board.

That's pretty cool, wonder if it will actually be recognizable unlike Hugo Weaving.

I had no idea he voiced Galvatron in the Transformers cartoon movie.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced

I think his voice is sooooooo different from anyone else's that it'd be damn heresy to muck w/ it.
