Orci & Kurtzman had written her differently. Originally, Arcee, Moonchaser, and Elita-One were meant to be a hive mind and be a gestalt team that would merge into a larger robot also called Arcee. Bay nixed that idea and gave them individual personalities. Then he had their screentime reduced. Then he asked that all three characters be killed off (although you only see one of them go down during the Egypt battle).

I don't think there ever was one script but rather an assortment of pages and post-it notes. I suspect ROTF's "script" looked exactly like the one for DMC and AWE.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced

So we saw the trailer for this in 3D when we saw Pirates in 3D last week and I gotta say the 3D looked pretty damn good. This may very well be the first movie outside of Avatar that I actually WANT to see in 3D.

I was forced to see Pirates and Thor in 3D (busted projector). Thor was a waste in 3D but Pirates actually had several good 3D bits in it.

Ironically Transformers 3 actually looks much more serious and dark, hmmm not sure how that will play out.

Still looking forward to it (except for the girl in it ... she is so unattractive IMHO).

Luckily there are no numbers in any of the titles, so it's easy to ignore TF2

I just view TF:ROTF as a hastily made DTV special created to bridge the gap between TF and TFOTM.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced

http://screenrant.com/transformers-d...w-kofi-118150/

The short version of my report: Michael Bay has created the best 3D movie experience since Avatar - and may have even surpassed it.
You don’t want to see this movie any other way.
The best part about it all is that the 3D technology Bay is employing brings the Transformers themselves to life in a way that none of his other films did. One of my first reactions after taking off the glasses was to say to myself, “Every one of these films should’ve looked like this.” The most common complaints about the Transformers visual effects (what few there were) included mention of the fact that the individual robots were hard to make out or distinguish, and that the CGI characters sometimes looked too fake when juxtaposed with their human counterparts. 3D, I am happy to report, eradicates most of these problems.
but even now I can tell you that the 3D adds those elements of physical presence and weight that were missing from the earlier installments. It actually feels like there are giant robots moving around the screen, and they blend with the real humans and environments better than ever before. The 3D filming style also allows all the minute physical details of the robots – which Bay and the effects gurus at Industrial Light & Magic have pained over for years now – to literally standout and be noticed, helping to distinguish each and every robot (even the generic henchmen) and all their moving parts. They actually feel like real characters, and that is a much-needed improvement on previous installments of the series.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced

Say what they will, I still have zero plans to see this, or any other movie, in 3D. I'm done with that shit.

Glad to hear that it's a better movie than TF2, though.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced

I have a hard time picturing how 3D itself resolves those issues.

looking at the shield and it's shape..for some reason I think that's going to be a good 3d moment.

I think it's the geometry of the shield. It really complements the shot composition (or vice versa).

I didn't say ignore TF2, I said ignore ROTF... And this should be TF2 - I'm not a fan of the naming a sequel thing.

Can't go Pirates of the Caribbean 1, 2, 3, 4 it has to be Black Pearl, Dead Man's Chest, At Worlds End, and whatever the current one is. etc;

Numbers contribute to a sense of series fatigue with the general public. The longest running, most successful series is James Bond, with nary a number to be found. Look at the original Star Wars trilogy, known to most old school fans as Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi; episode numbers were entirely irrelevant until the late 90s, when Lucas began re-branding the OT to make audiences conscious of what Episode I meant in the title of his first prequel in 1999.

Personally, I favor numberless sequel titles. I'm perfectly capable of maintaining a sense of continuity--especially in a movie series with so few entries. These days, we're lucky to get through a trilogy before someone insists on rebooting. Look at the confusion created by Rob Zombie's Halloween titles. We have two Halloween IIs! How does that help anyone discuss the films, when they have to then clarify which of the two they mean? Does anyone enjoy having to specify, "Rob Zombie's Halloween II?"

I just say "the good one" when referring to the real Halloween II. I fully agree, though.

He was a Decepticon salvage scrap done (his words) who was reporting to Soundwave, though he said he was under orders from the Fallen himself. Meagan Fox burned his eye with a blow torch and he fucked her leg.

He also sounded like Rattrap from Beast Wars.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced

He was like the best part of ROTF

It was like something out of Gremlins.

If anything, Wheelie was one of the few things Bay did right in the franchise.
