It's a shame about The Island. I actually think that's one of his better movies. I guess it wasn't flashy enough or filled with enough Baysplosions to keep his fans happy.

But, yeah, Bay cares about his fans. Keep in mind he's just a big kid playing with some really awesome (and expensive) toys. It's the kind of things all of us dreamed of when playing with our army men, G.I. Joes, Transformers, Thundercats, etc. So he does care (as nizarre as it seems) what his fellow "kids" think.



Thank you. ROTF may have some great action sequences and it moves at a good pace but the nonsensical plot holding it together is so poor that it still doesn't manage to skate by.

I get what you're saying and I doubt Bay would do that to Prime. He knows the fans love this character so, if he must die, he'll go out a hero rather than have his epic battle interrupted by a well meaning but douchey kid.

As for my Charge of the Light Brigade comment, that was inspired by a sequence that was intended to ocurr during the final action sequence of the '86 movie (where all the remaining G1 characters were meant to die) but the writers (although only one is credited) backed off at the last minute.

Yeah, the Twins are back. There are pics of their new vehicle modes somewhere in this thread. I actually liked the Twins. Their antics were usually in the background or comments offscreen so they didn't feel intrusive to me. Now the humping dogs (the first time was actually funny in a random sort of way but the second time...) and humping robot were beyond stupid.

Goes right back to my disagreement with...I can't even remember who regarding Michelle Rodriguez. I thought the backlash against Hot Rod was ridiculous in 1986, when I was seven. Still do. His was a typical "chosen adventurer" story (to borrow from Cinescopes): guy screws up, guy redeems himself, guy becomes hero. He'll always be inferior to Optimus Prime, of course, but that's a bit like saying that a president will always be inferior to Lincoln. It's a given, and I think we're better off evaluating the character for himself than for who he isn't.

As for killing off Optimus, I sincerely hope that they realize they squandered that story idea with Revenge of the Fallen. Forget the fact they've established that Optimus can be resurrected seemingly at will; we as an audience have already seen him die. We won't go for it again.
