I'm actually surprised they are doing the entire series in one movie.

Next month's Kick-Ass does the same exact thing, and despite taking some liberties with the story, Matthew Vaughn made it work beautifully.

Vaughn is 3 for 3 and I have no doubt in my mind that this will be Wright's 3 for 3.

Can't wait! I'm hoping they do a sneak preview at SDCC this year! I honestly can't see how they won't. It's only like 2 weeks before it opens.

Barring some excellent reviews, I won't be seeing it. I have never read the books but that trailer looks like shit.

I've never read the series and know very little about it, but that trailer makes it look like a blast. Glad to see Edgar Wright hasn't lost it

Trailer oddly reminds me of

the only thing i'm not liking is scott being thrown into that church thing...the cgi looks way too obvious in that shot.

I'd be all over this... if it didn't star Cera. First Wright film I'll be completely passing on. Bummer.

This has the potential to be worse than Speed Racer.

The pre-release write-ups have been universally glowing. Being a ridiculously rabid fan of the books, the trailer very, very accurately carries over the spirit and the energy from print. If you can't stomach the trailer, chances are you won't think much of anything else with the Scott Pilgrim name on it either.

Personally, my expectations were stratospheric to begin with, and the trailer still somehow looks better than anything I could ever have hoped to see.

....i love Wright. I'll see anything he does...now bring me the conclusion to the Blood and Ice Cream trilogy.

Hmm...Michael Cera as a love-struck, milquetoast nerd. What a stretch!

Yeah, but Kick-Ass was, what, eight 22 page issues? Scott Pilgrim is six 150 page books.

But I do this this looks pretty amazing, despite still not being sold on Cera as Scott.

Perform worse, perhaps, be worse? Highly, highly doubt it.

Wright will guarantee me seeing this. Cera will guarantee me waiting for Blu-Ray. Talk about your basic Win/Lose scenario.

1.) Speed Racer was awesome, but ultimately a kids movie made for adults.

That's cool and all, but that will satisfy, what, about 1% of the movie-going public? To the other 99% it may very well just look like some seriously self-indulgent hipster movie.

I'll wait for the blu-ray, but I'm sure I'll check it out eventually, being a Wright fan going back to when I had to import Spaced on DVD almost ten years ago.
