I wasn't sure about Winstead until that pic. My worry is Cera...I've liked just about everything he's been in, but the Scott Pilgrim character needs energy and i don't know if he could do anything more than his usual mumbly awkward shtick.

Is Jason Schwartzman Joining The ‘Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World’ Cast?
We’ve been pretty much bombarded with “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World” news over the past month — between behind-the-scenes photos to cast updates to commentary straight from “Scott Pilgrim” creator, Brian Lee O’Malley. Not that this is a bad thing — after all, to say we’re impressed with both the direction and the all-star roster of Hollywood up-and-comers attached to the Oni Press adaptation would be putting it lightly.
However, if a post over at The Playlist is to be trusted, that aforementioned ridiculously-cool cast could get that much better, as they point to an article in Variety in which Jason Schwartzman was named as a castmember — and quite possibly the seventh “evil ex” (namely Gideon Gordon Graves) which Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) must defeat in order to win his heart’s desire, Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead).
While Variety has since deleted the mention of Schwartzman’s attachment to the project with no explanation — which SlashFilm is quick to point out could just’ve been a mistake on Variety’s part — it’s definitely worth a mention since Schwartzman would be a perfect addition to the cast and the source may have simply reported on the casting before official paperwork was completed.

Michael Cera to battle Brandon Routh and Chris Evans (in 'Scott Pilgrim')

If Superbad's Michael Cera wants to get the girl in the movie adaptation of Bryan Lee O'Malley's Scott Pilgrim graphic novels, he'll have to defeat Superman Returns' Brandon Routh and Fantastic Four's Chris Evans. I love it already.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Routh and Evans have been cast as two of the seven exes Cera's Canadian slacker/wannabe rocker Scott Pilgrim will have to battle if he's to win the heart of his dream girl (Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who played Bruce Willis' daughter in Live Free of Die Hard). Per the trade, "Evans plays evil boyfriend No. 2, Lucas Lee, a pro skateboarder-turned-movie star, while Routh plays the third evil boyfriend, Todd Ingram, a rocker with vegan psychic powers."
Are you diehard Scott Pilgrim fans down with the casting for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, or do you wish Universal would go back to the drawing board? I'm just happy that Cera gets to graduate high school. Scott Pilgrim is 23 when the six-volume Oni Press series begins. (Vol. 5 hit shelves Feb. 4.)

Hmm... interesting casting. But I'd rather see an Edgar Wright helmed picture with either Chris Evans or Brandon Routh as the lead instead.
I mean I'm reading the plot and how many times is Michael Cera gonna pretend he's in a rock band? Don't get me wrong, he's a funny guy, but he's a side kick. He was Jonah Hill's bitch in Superbad and Ellen Page's bitch in Juno.

At what point has Michael Cera reached the point of over exposure?
He may still be far enough out of the mainstream for most people but, to me at least, his one-note act is getting a little tired.
I'm fairly certain that Shia LaBeouf passed that benchmark a year or two ago, and I think that Cera is rapidly approaching it.
