I still think something like...The Batman...would have been cool.

Caped Crusader? Yeah, I like it for the comics and it's historic use..but not for a film title

World's Greatest Detective? same as above...THOUGH..I would love to see more detective work from Batman

It would be sweet if he could work the studio and whoever makes the Imax cameras, and come up with a feasible way to shoot the entire film in Imax. Regardless, I'm glad it's not going to have anything to do with 3D.

I'm pretty sure he's trying to figure out a way as we speak.

Has anyone actually heard an IMAX camera film? how loud is it?

Since we're all throwing out fantasy titles, I was hoping they would go with Tyler Perry's Diary of a Mad Batman

'The Batman' would also have been an awesome title. Wouldn't be surprised if WB uses it after Nolan exits the series.

My brother and I have been debating who the villain will be for hours! Every time we think up a villain there is some reason or other it just won't work in Nolan's trilogy. I won't go over it all as it's pointless. But we did come up with ...

Rupert Thorne (Plus the Crime Doctor) moves in to take over the mob and hires Bane as a bodyguard while Batman is out at a swamp fighting Killer Croc. Batman returns to Gotham followed by Croc who discovers the new Batcave via the waterfall entrance. Gordon chases Batman ala "Over The Edge" (Batman: The Animated Series) as Bane encounters Croc and nearly kills him. This leads up to a Batman vs. Bane and unlike the comics Batman wins. Throne turns out to be worse than anyone. The people are desperate. Batman takes him down to vindicate himself. Throne breaks out of jail running into Croc who knows who Batman is. The final battle takes place at Wayne manor.

Or ...

The Phantasm is in Gotham. Confused for Batman. No one knows the identity of The Phantasm all the way until the end of the movie where it's revealed and a shock to us all! (The real one won't work! Her role would be the same as Rachel who died. Hush would work if already established. But quick flashbacks to reveal he was Bruce's friend at the beginning of the film gives his identity away to everyone. Not enough set up and would feel just like the Two-Face story.)

Nothing else we thought of would work.

I'd love to see Lady Shiva in the film. Including flashbacks to when Bruce trained under her thus making her his old master that he now must defeat (as she is working for whoever is in charge).

I can't wait to find out who's in the movie because this is driving me crazy. Catwoman could work as the only new love interest for Batman since Rachel died. Like she is the only one who can understand him. But please, no "goggles" version. Black leather or spray on purple paint works fine for me!

Ah! The Huntress (Another favorite of mine) is very closely tied to the mob. Her origin story could be worked in to fit well with this movie!

Why does everyone have such a hard-on for Hush? He's a rather faceless character and was basically a retread of the villain from The Long Halloween.

Rise of the Batman or Rise of the Dark Knight has a much better ring to it.

Oh..I'm not saying I'm a fan of his at all. I'm just saying..Hardy has the physical look for him.

Yeah, but you're not the first person to mention him.

Dark Knight Rising has a better ring to it if they are dedicated to that theme

What theme is The Dark Knight Rising? Anyone care to venture what it means?

Dark Knight Ascending would have been a better title, but as the long movie is as good as TDK, I'd be happy if they called it Boo Boo Kitty Fuck: The Movie.

And yet if you respond with anything about your coworker's C.L.I.T., you'd have HR on your ass.

While we didn't see him actually leave Gotham, it was certainly implied that he was. Besides even if he didn't and was just not being Batman for awhile, Returns would still work. Anyways, it's a pointless discussion... I like the consistency of the titles... glad WB is going with it.

re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

I am wondering if we will see a new Batcave and a more traditional Batmobile in this one. But if Batman is on the run will they use these much? If this ends the trilogy and no part 4 is made seems like a waste to create all of that just for it to end. But perhaps if the movie ends with Batman living to fight another day (although we will never see another film in this Nolan universe) the it at least sets him up for the unseen future. Did I say that right?

But if Nolan wants to really end it and the gloves are off ... will Alfred die? Will everyone find out Bruce is Batman?

They won't do it but ... what if Bruce stays in the Batcave at the computer like Oracle directing another hero like the Huntress so Gotham still has a hero? Sorta like Batman Beyond with Bruce commanding Terry on missions?

I only thought of that because he is on the run and maybe hiding. But it's not very cool for a movie since it chairs Batman and he's the one we want to see in action. So scratch that!

I can't really see them doing a Batwing or Batboat.

A new villain could work but they stated over and over he has a list of Rogue's and is choosing from that not making one from scratch. So he has someone in mind. Clock King or Red Claw aren't cool enough to be the final threat for the trilogy. Neither is Catwoman or Penguin. Poison Ivy and Clayface get too unrealistic. They said no to Riddler and Mr. Freeze. Mad Hatter or Ventriloquist not good enough for a final villain. Spellbinder is to out there for these darker films. Ra's Al Ghul coming back from a Lazarus pit won't float with Nolan's vision. Croc don't seem to fit wither. Bane would work but not Knight Fall exactly. Hush, Jason Todd, and Phantasm all call for prior set-ups. To establish them before so it's not just sprung on us. man this gives a person a headache.

I wouldn't say it was implied he left Gotham. What he left was the safety net of being considered the city's protector. The end with him driving solo into the night was showing that from now on, he had to do his mission alone, not that he was leaving Gotham. This is especially evident (to me) when you listen to the dialogue Gordon says over the end scene.

How about Black Mask? Character has mob/gang ties, hell-bent against both Batman and the Wayne family, prior back story isn't really too necessary to have and the character itself isn't outlandish (like Mr. Freeze or Killer Croc would be).

The problem with Black Mask is timing. Look up pictures of him and then think "red". He looks just like "The Red Skull" being used in the upcoming Captain American film.
