Is that based on the roles he passed (reasonably so) or has he said that? If anything can convince DiCaprio to be in something comic book related it's Nolan. And by this point I barely consider them comic book films...they're heavy on crime/drama. Which is great.

If anyone could convince him, it would be Nolan but it would be a tough sell. Nolan has been trying to work with DiCaprio for years now and he kept turning him down until Inception. Leo doesn't do comedies or the stereotypical summer tentpole action movies. He hasn't played a supporting role since Titanic hit it big (other than Celebrity) so I'm not sure if he'd want to be second fiddle. He loves playing dark, tortured characters though so a Batman flick directed by Nolan might be up his alley. A big if though.

If Leo was cast as the Riddler, he'd get top billing just like Nicholson did in the original Batman. I certainly didn't go see TDK for Christian Bale.

That's my exact train of thought. I think by now...we can pretty much consider the Nolan Batman films to NOT be a thematically NORMAL comic book franchise movie. Especially w/ TDK really really getting gritty. It's not a comic film. It's a Crime Drama w/ Batman and others. That's the gist of it for me. And after working w/ Nolan. I'm pretty sure it'd be a much easier, but not ridiculously easy, sell for DiCaprio to work again w/ Nolan. It seems he really liked working w/ Nolan, which is great for us. So...you never know.

I see the Batman films cuz of Batman..and once I knew more of him...Nolan's directing. I don't think any of his Batman films have had a prominent poster, besides character posters, have had a actor name on the banner. And that's the way I'd want it. It's a heavy ensemble cast film. And I love that. All I worry about for BB3 is if it'll be a better film than TDK. THAT's the hard part. Financially...I heavily doubt it'll make the cash TDK did, and for several reasons that need not mention, but as long as it's critically a better film..I'm fucking stoked. I wonder what things Nolan will surprise with next? He's got to top that Diesel truck w/ Trailer flip. I'm still amazed at that moment. And it was REAL. LOVE IT!

I agree with this. Assuming the rumors are true, I'd prefer JGL in the role. I think he can hit it out of the park and really give his career a big boost. No one will call him the kid from Angels in the Outfield anymore. ;)

I'd like Leo in the role too. He'd do a great job and I'm sure the studio wants him the most. But with how successful Nolan has been lately I feel the studio will let Nolan do whatever he wants.

I'd go w/ DiCaprio Leo as Black Mask and JGL as The Riddler (he's that skinnier body and look that'd fit the character well)...sadly...we still don't have Guy Pearce back w/ Nolan. C'mon, Nolan! Get him back!

To be honest while DiCaprio is one of my favorite actors I just can't picture him as any role in a Batman film really. Especially if this is for talks about The Riddler character. Joseph Gordon-Levitt while not my favorite actor seems like he would be a better fit for that kind of role. Tom Hardy would also be a good choice for The Riddler too though I think.

I like the idea that's been tossed around by some to have Black Mask in this movie as a minor back up type villain. Maybe have somebody like Guy Pearce play him.

...damnit..that's the 2nd time that shit's happened today here. Black Mask is what I meant for DiCaprio to be. I never call him Leo...I don't know him so he gets DiCaprio. Though...I do call Scorsese by Marty every once in a while. More out of affection for his work.

In the current issue of Rolling Stone, there's a pretty good interview with him. He doesn't outright say he'll never do them but it was alluded by the interviewer. Also, it's interesting because he's a huge comic book fan.

That may be to the fact that he doesn't fit in most superhero films. I mean...I can't think of him as any character in a superhero/comic book film. Having said that...I CAN now see him as Black Mask. He's got that calm anger that can burst...something that would be good for BM.

I'm not sure if you mean Hush was one of the good ideas or not. I like the character although that's probably mostly due to Jim Lee's artwork, and he's one of those "grounded in reality" guys that would work in Nolan's universe.

He did go through a bit in the 1990's "Knightfall" storyline where he was infected with "Venom", a super-steroid-esque drug.

In the current continuity, he is a reformed thief, now working as a private investigator. Paul Dini has done a great job with the character in making him more relevant to the Batman Universe.
