I liked the trailer.

This looks terrible, the very definition of arch. Yet again Burton has decided to put Depp in drag and generated a "kooky" story around him. What a waste of talent.

I never watched the original show, but my wife was a fan. When she saw the trailer, she was very disappointed that they went the comedy route.

That trailer raped my childhood.
I was born in 1964, and watching Dark Shadows is one of my earliest memories. That show was my introduction to the horror genre and Vampire mythology. I knew who Barnabas was, long before I had ever even heard of Dracula.
My first 'monster' related toy was the Barnabas Collins model kit put out by MPC in 1969.
Very disappointed.

The trailer seems hell bent on pulling out every cliche in the "fish out of water" arsenal to sell the plot. I'm suprised they didn't use the "record scratching to a halt" sound effect right in conjunction with the "this ACTUALLY takes place... in the 70's!" reveal.
And then the fact that the 70s are symbolized by tired cliches like Lava Lamps, Disco Balls and Perky funk music... it sure as hell isn't subtle.
The sitcom level of the acting: eyebrows arch, brows furrow, teenage eyeballs roll... and all as if to an invisible beat. Its like the Miley Cyrus school of acting where snarky faces are passed off as comedy.
Oh look! He doesnt know what a TV is! Or a Chevy! Because he's from 300 years ago...ugh.
HOWEVER... I am hoping that this trailer doesnt actually represent the movie, which, from all accounts Ive heard leading up to this, is really strange and uncatagorizeable. I hope that the studio is putting in all that awful T-Rex music to try and win over a middlebrow audience.
Time will tell

I've sat through this trailer every time I've gone to the movies since it's debuted. I'm at the point of seeing it just because I feel I develop Stockholm Syndrome every time I have to sit through the awful two minutes.

RIP Jonathan Frid -aka- the original Barnabus Collins. Wonder if seeing the new movie is what killed him

I have no interest in this, but my wife's a huge Burton fan and is always a good sport for films I want to see, so I'll likely be seeing it as a Sunday matinee. Hopefully low expectations make it somewhat enjoyable.

Christy Lemire only gave it one and a half stars. She said it was visually appealing, but had no story. So, in other words, like most of what Tim Burton has done in the past 20 years or so.

Man....everything after Sleepy Hollow has just been one progressively worse bomb after another. You'd think that Alice In Wonderland would be the type of thing that Burton would be perfect for...but then we all saw it.

This movie will make money. It seems to be geared more towards a female and tween audience. Not saying it will be some explosive it but it's not going to bomb.

I hope The Avengers steamrolls right over it, no one sees it, and people stop giving Tim Burton money for being obscenely lazy.
