New Nightmare was a pretty awesome film. 10x better than Freddy's Dead. A lot better than Friday the 13th's final film (except F vs J), Jason Goes to Hell... god that sucked!!!!!!

Alien series was really good as well. Wasn't a fan of the Blade series, although I really like Ryan Reynolds character in Trinity.

Well lets hope if 4 does happen it is the third definable of the series cause 3 was really bad whereas 1 and 2 were amazing

I agree with Matthew C. on most of his points and ranking percentage wise. Except for Evil Dead. In my mind even if all 3 Evil Dead films work I dont think any of them are great.I also think the 4 Psycho films work to at least some extent.
My vote for best horror Series would probably Romero's Dead films.

I hated Scream 3, but I think there's a lot of unfair criticism of Scream 2. I had anticipated a typically awful horror sequel, but was pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable it was. Others have mentioned some good examples with Evil Dead and Night of the Living Dead. But I would certainly group Scream in with those as one of the few horror films that actually had a great sequel - and that's a very short list.

Jason X is Friday the 13th's final film. And, for the record, it is worse than Jason Goes to Hell.

The original is the freshest of the series, as is usually the case, and damn it, it should be the best, but I find the other two a little more purely entertaining, for some reason. I think original drags at times. The sequels never drag for me.

I'm wondering how they managed to find an opening in Jamie Kennedy's schedule to film this?

I'm honestly surprised Dimension had the restraint to wait even this long to continue this franchise, considering the slew of direct-to-video Hellraiser/Crow/Children of the Corn/Prophecy/Mimic/etc. sequels they've churned out. Although I've noticed this practice has scaled back now that Dimension is no longer part of Disney.

There have only been 2 DTV Crow movies. Salvation was intended for the theater. Decent budget, cast, soundtrack. I believe it actually hit in a couple of cities to test the waters, which led to it's eventual DTV status due to poor showings.

*edit - I stand corrected. Apparently there have been two spinoff movies called the Crow: Purgatory and the Crow: Purgatory II that slipped under my radar. I watched the trailer for II and it looked laughably bad.

Re: Scream 4 Greenlit?!?

Got Some Updates

Kevin Williamson has been writing on his twitter lately "writing s4" and "its a sequel, not a remake".

I'm kinda getting a little excited. I'm not going to lie.

I just hope it is a more fitting and appropriate end (or start of the end) for the series.

Re: Scream 4 Greenlit?!?

Kevin Williamson is a big part of why horror movies suck today. So, that being said, I am not looking forward to this.

Scream is a masterpiece.. but the sequels sucked. I could care less about a 4th at this point.

Re: Scream 4 Greenlit?!?

Scream 2 was almost as good as the first IMHO. The third was the weakest, but still awesome fun... at least for me.

Re: Scream 4 Greenlit?!?

Wes Craven talks about how he's taking a neutral stance at the moment.

Sounds like he's waiting for a script to say anything. Smart move. But still his involvement could easily make or break this film...

Fixed. Sorry but, as much as I love Craven, the man hasn't contributed anything worthwhile to cinemas since 1996.

Red Eye was an enjoyable diversion.

Re: Scream 4 Greenlit?!?

I haven't enjoyed anything Craven's name has been on since the first Scream in 1996. I enjoyed the sequels quite a bit but I don't remember how involved he was with those.

I'd gladly welcome a fourth film if it was decent.

Re: Scream 4 Greenlit?!?

Why does it have to be Scream? They can't make another murder mystery movie with humor?
