He has SUPER hair, for crying out loud. One hair holds a ton of weight, as seen in Superman IV. It goes through ice and fire and a hail of machine gun bullets in Luthor's gauntlet. He flies at speeds approaching the speed of light. You really think his hair should blow around because of wind?

Deep down, I kinda want a new film if it is rebooted to kinda go the way that The Animated Series did it. That one told the origin really well AND introduced a future villain to boot. I think no matter what now, Luthor has to be in the background..I like him but too much of the films are with him as the lead villain. Have him be guy that has other guys to beat Supes up with. Again...the cartoon did this really well too.

All the hair talk reminded me of a recent page Gary Frank drew in Action Comics - Brainiac:

Yeah, the animated series is the template to follow if not altogether emulate. That said, I'd rather they do something in the spirit of the animated series but not to the letter of the animated series.
They should get Dini and Timm to write a treatment for a live action reboot.

I LOVED the animated series origin. It set up Brainiac in a believable way.
I also think a Darkseid movie would work well, ending in an all-out attack on Earth.

He uses a piece of his ship, and bounces his heat vision off of it to shave.

I kinda hope they'd use the Animated series theme as well. It's a cool theme, not too far off the popular Superman theme..but it's still cool and not so well recognized and overplayed at times.

Re: Superman Returns Sequel is a GO!
Superman Returns was a terrible disappointment, for reasons already detailed by others. It should have been great. With so much time having passed since the previous film, the return of the greatest superhero of them all should have been awesome, but it was awful. I thought Routh was great and I didn't hate Bosworth at all. I didn't care for Spacey, but I blame the writing more than him. The script was an absolute mess. Like some really bad fan-fic attempt.
They need a whole new creative team on the next one. Superman Returns was botched so badly that I don't trust them to get it right next time.

Like making the movie just 2 hours including credits.
I think so.

No. A non-derivative script that actually lived up to the promise of the early shuttle sequence (uber-Lois and passengers that should have severed spinal columns notwithstanding) is what would have helped.

Yeah. The script is weak as fuck..it's big and epic like..but..it's so weak. Superman wasn't really Superman..he was more like a mime the whole time. Lois wasn't a strong woman we've come to know. I don't think Modern day Lex would do what Lex did in the film...marry an old woman? WTF. Also...SUPERKID!!! How the fuck do you recuperate after that?

I watched this movie again about a month ago, and wasn't that impressed. Kevin Spacey sucked. Everytime he said something it was so over-the-top and and lame it made me cringe and feel embarrassed for him. Lois Lane weighed 3 pounds and has a hairline higher than my Grandpa's and the superman-kid-boy is just a bad, bad idea. I do like Routh though. He looks and sounds the part, at least. They should just pretend like the first one never happened.

From IFC.com (the Independent Film Channel):
http://www.ifc.com/news/2009/06/hollywood-bollywood.php
I have heard of his involvement in the movie, but had not heard the part about Superman. Has anyone else heard this? The Independent Film Channel is a big deal, this isn't some little nobody source.
Sylvester Stallone in "Kambakkht Ishq"
Audiences will have to wait until "The Expendables" to see Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger in the same frame of celluloid, but the Bollywood buzz machine worked overtime to spread rumors of the first onscreen collaboration between '80s action icons in the 2009 Indian action comedy. It proved too good to be true, as only Stallone could commit to a cameo in the Akshay Kumar starrer (much of which can be seen in the film's trailer), in which Kumar plays a stunt double looking for love as his career in the West takes off, appropriately enough, with a gig as Brandon Routh's stunt double in "Superman." Routh appears as himself, as does Denise Richards, who was reportedly so thrilled with the experience she told the Times Online, "Bollywood is so unexpectedly awesome!" Audiences will be able to decide for themselves when the film unspools internationally in August.

An Omelete.com interview with Brandon Routh in which he expresses hope in taking flight as Superman once again.
"The term contract has expired. But if they call me again, [I'd come] back to the character without thinking twice."
He also agreed with the interviewers that the "Superman Returns" would have benefited from a few fist fight scenes.

Re: Superman Returns Sequel is a GO!
Routh was fine. He just never said anything cuz it was a shit script. It's not the actor that failed for the film..it's the film itself that failed. It was boring as fuck.

I'd prefer it if Routh came back. I can see him holding a franchise that's decent enough to be a franchise.. we really need a reboot here.
