"No no, it does matter, cause if the robber was stopped, the getaway driver would've runaway, not made a getaway and killed Uncle Ben..."
"HUH?"

This opens May 2007. This is the second trailer. It's neatly packaging for you 20% of the story. I'm sure we'll see different trailers highlighting the other parts of the story so that by the time it opens, you won't even need to see the movie

If that's a design for the Venom in the movie, then
You know,
I can already hear the people bitching that there wasn't enough Venom for all the hype. Yep, someone who hasn't been shown in two of the maybe three promos for the movie must play a really big role! Get real people. Raimi doesn't like the character and is more or less just paying lip service by having him in the flick. Don't expect a big Venom show. It's like people who bitched about Episode III not having any of Vader in the suit slicing and dicing and doing all sorts of action moves.
You know,

I don't know, it just seems like this is going to be a mess. Basicly they're introducing 4 new characters (symbiote spidey, eddie brock/venom, the sandman, and the harry osbourne goblin). I don't care how talented of a filmaker you are, you just can't make this cohesive or coherent in 2.5 hours. A story or character is going to get shortchanged while they hurredly try to show each characters origin, not to mention the fact that they all will have to fight spidey at some point. I can see it being all action and no story...who knows though?

I liked the trailer even without the shot of Venom and I'm looking forward to its release.

Don't forget Peter's new love interest too!

i don't know. It seems to me that if the story is good then the number of villians won't make a difference.
Batman Begins + Good story + more than one villian = Still a kick ass film.

There sure are a lot of fanboy complaints running rampant round here. I think it looks awesome. Got me excited. Sandman looks cool and I like the whole "evil Parker" vs. "good Parker" symbiote story. From the trailer it kinda looks like Peter ends up hitting Mary Jane (or pushing her down). Can't wait!

We've gotten into this thing where we expect every adaptation to have exact verisimiltude. There must be all the same characters, they must all have the same exact same lines, they must look exactly like they are described. God forbid they change the race of a character, let alone the hair color. There's no consideration for the differences in media and storytelling. Even the nature of standalone features versus continuing storylines are not considered. Plot must unfold in exactly the same manner and order. It's ultimately childish. We're a nation of children being read our favorite bedtime story, but we get upset if mom or dad change anything or even the cadence of how they read it.

If you're going to make me a burger that is made out of pork, BBQ sauce and a slew of other things then don't dare call it a Hamburger. Call it a Rib Sandwich.
But if you're going to make me a Hamburger than you best be putting in Beef and all the basics that make up a hamburger.
