Crash was a total shock to everyone.

I haven't seen Good Night and Good Luck, but Munich, Brokeback Mountain and Capote were all stronger films. Crash winning has got to be the biggest joke in AMPAS history.

i wouldn't say it was nearly the biggest, with "Shakespeare in Love" in the mix, but i did think it wasn't as good as the hype and BM should have won.

I personally preferred Munich and Brokeback to Crash. The other nominated films were good, but I didn't love them.

I hadn't seen Shakespeare in Love when it won, but because it beat SPR, I naturally despised it. Having seen it, I actually think it is a better movie than SPR.

The Pianist should've won over Chicago, which is still despise.

I think Chicago was the Best Picture in a pure 100-minutes-of-utter-enjoyment sense. I haven't had that much fun at a movie when I saw it since "Pulp Fiction"

The biggest problem with Crash winning best Picture, was that it did not happen in 1996.

He's referring to this movie: Crash (1996)
