They're not really pushing the soundtrack too hard, which is kind of odd for a film like this. There's finally a listing on Amazon but no info other than it's manufactured on demand.

This movie was awful. It was generic, pointless, with bad CGI and confusing action. Sam Worthington couldn't act his way out of a paper bag. All the charm from the old one is gone, but all the flaws have been blown up to massive proportions. Skip it and don't look back.

Saw it. Mildly entertaining at times, but overall felt like a great big middle finger to fans of the original. They totally re-arranged the story for no good reason, and the characters they added brought nothing extra. Let me say that I am no huge fan of BuBu the owl, but the way they did that scene was completely disrepectful IMO. It was like saying : "all you liked was garbage, we're making a real story."
Also:
Spoiler:
Finally, Harry Hamlin was no great actor, but at least he made Perseus likable. Worthington's version was just a prick. The only real positive aspect I can say is that they bothered to try and give Perseus' companions some character development as opposed to just being random soldiers.
This movie would have been better had they done one of two things:
1) Take the Stephen Sommers route and give it a bit more tongue in cheek stuff, like when they were on the boat and the guy says: "We're approaching Medusa's lair," with kind of a shrug.
2) They had gone for a hard R movie. Better yet, just not made this and done a live-action God of War.

I haven't thought much of Worthington in either T4 or Avatar. Curious to see if he plays the same character again here.

poorly written and poorly directed. it had some good parts but as a whole....it was a mess. felt too rushed also. i think the casting was good except for perseus. orlando bloom still would've been my choice. plus the buzzcut hairstyle i will always complain about. harry hamlin's perseus acted and looked like he could be the son of zues. warner bros would've served us better if they made this a straight by the book remake of the original. just with better production and cg. i hope sony takes notes on this failure so when they make their god of war movie, it won't suck. because gods shouldn't be wearing shiny tinfoil when they are not in battle. they should have the look of how sony portrayed their gods in their god of war games.

I give it an average. Seen better, seen worse. Some of the action scenes, effect were pretty good.

Well, it wasn't horrible but it certainly wasn't good. A few decent moments here and there, but the pace was definitely off. The first 40 minutes is filled with a whole lot of nothing, then the last hour is non-stop action, coming to a close WAY too quickly... I mean, the Kraken doesn't even get to do that much damage because they're in a rush to just wrap the movie up. It's a pretty big flaw when you just wish they'd kill Andromeda and save everyone the effort - not to mention Perseus' constant whining about "I want to do this as a MAN dammit!". Jesus Christ, just have him take the gifts and kick ass from the start. Sam Worthington has something akin to ANTI-CHARISMA - as far as I'm concerned, this is his third strike. Everything he does is one note and that one note is 'MEH'.
I kind of liked the Bubo bit and some of the action was decent but when you have Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes and completely waste both of them, you're doing something wrong. Also, maybe it was just that I saw it in 3D (which for the most part was pretty bad - the CG stuff looked cool but there was a lot to be desired when it came to how the effect worked on the rest of the film) but the staging of the scorpion sequence was horrible - my friends had no idea there were multiple scorpions until halfway through the sequence. I had faith that Letterier would deliver and he really let me down - at least it might open the door for someone to make a kick ass greek mythology movie in the future. 2.5/5

I just checked the cast at IMDB and it seems there's a strong connection between this cast and the Bond franchise. Madds Mikelson was in Casino Royale, Gemma Arterton was in Quatum of Solace, and Alexa Davalos was with Daniel Craig in Defiance.
I also noticed that Gemma plays an important role in Prince of Persia. Guess she's going to be the go to girl for CG loaded epics.

Saw this today... eh. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't particularly good. I was disappointed that the Kraken didn't do much either, and the scorpion fight was too chaotic to tell what was going on and who was fighting. It also did a pretty poor job moving the story along... attempts to establish other characters went no where. Medusa's CG was pretty bad as well.
Still, there was enough there to entertain me. It seemed like it should have been an extra 20 minutes to actually build a cohesive story and flesh out characters to make it more epic, rather then just rush along from one action scene to the next.

Megan McArdle, who is a business and economics editor, rarely posts movie reviews. However, she did post about this:

I gather that the idea was to do a sort of homage to eighties movies—indeed, to possibly the last of the great stop-motion monster movies. It was the kind of homage that is usually delivered by drunk wedding guests with a latent crush on the bride and a too-accurate grasp of the couples' worst qualities. The sets were designed with a nod to the old epics of yore, but without their skill, so that they looked like they had been produced by crack team of Christmas pageant directors.
