I can't wait to see this flick; right up my alley.
Piss on those pediphile freaks at Disney if they don't like it....

Didn't this break on The Drudge Report?

If so, this whole "controversy" sounds like Drudge trying to stir up shit between the Mouse and the Cons.

Not the first time Drudge has done that either.

This "bad press" has done nothing but help Bad Santa.

I just hope they do not wait until Christmas 2004 to release the DVD.

Right. Disney is trying to gain press from the movie.
It's not like they didn't know what they were getting into.
That's why they have producers.

Please.
Another cheap trick by the big mouse.

Possibly my favorite 80's comedy and an excellent "Christmas movie".

Still not a good bad Santa , gone good example.

Keith Olberman referred to all these hijinx as a "Manufactured controversy" on his show last night. I thought that summed it up rather perfectly.

Ebert's 3 1/2-star(!) review here.

Here's a tongue-twister excerpt from a review if I ever read one: "You instinctively understand that a movie is not about what it is about, but about how it is about it."

"You expect a happy ending, but the ending is happy in the same sense that a man's doctors tell him he lost his legs but they were able to save his shoes."

Just got done seeing it. Probably one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. I've never laughed so hard in the theater before...

Everything you've heard is right. It's crude, it's a hard "R"-rating and it's very hilarious...

Glad to hear another positive review. I may give it a go over the weekend.

I'm there.

Most reviews have been decent.
It was directed by Terry Zwigoff.

It has Billy Bob & Bernie Mac.

Looks raunchy but hilarious.

Support your "movies for adults."

I really needed this because I haven't LOL so hard at a movie theater in quite a while where the rest of the theater was also getting the jokes. I had tears running down my cheeks from laughing so hard at many of the jokes and "insightful" commentary of the holidays and the legend of Santa Claus, and the rest of Santa's "world".

This is not to say the movie is a "laugh-a-minute" comedy, but when it's funny, it's f-ing funny as hell. The middle act is a tad less funny, but still entertaining, and the film doesn't seem to drag much anywhere, so the pacing was pretty good.

The cast does a good job inhabiting their roles to serve the story. Billy Bob was very funny, and Tony Cox chewed up as much scenery below a normal waist line level would allow.

And yes, definitely not one to take your small children to see, it's rated R for a very good reason (something to do with
Spoiler:
not walking right for a week...
and among other things) Heh.

If you can handle the f-ing language, this Bad Santa is really bad (but in a good way).

I give it 3 stars, or a grade of B.

HOLY CRAP THIS MOVIE WAS FUNNY

Reminded me a lot of the Big Lebowski and the Coen producers produced this one. Thornton is absolutely hysterical in this movie...classic lines, classic scenes. I seriously haven't laughed this hard in 2-3 years. Seems like Bernie Mac was wasted...I usually find him much better than he was in this movie. John Ritter was great.

Honestly, I can't reccomend this movie enough. Total adult comedy, worthy of an R rating. I look forward to the DVD.

I thought it was damn funny. But, I'm the type that thinks stuff like a drunken foul mouthed loser dressed in a santa outfit is funny It's not for anyone, but if you have a sick sense of humor, you'll love it.

My only complaint is bernie mac should have been a little more prominant. John Ritter was just awesome too, he played the whiney guy perfectly.

I will throw another thumbs up to it. Very quirky, definitely not a typical Christmas feel good movie, but in a weird way, just as feel good. Highly recommended for social outcasts everywhere
