Honestly, this is the funniest movie I have seen in a looooong time. I laughed so much that I missed numerous jokes in the movie .. unable to contain my laughter to hear what followed.
I was going to skip this movie and just wait for an eventual Netflix rental, but because of the good words about it here, I went to see it. Thanks guys.

I saw it again last night and laughed just as hard at some of the scenes. Definite DVD buy and the funniest movie of the year for me by far. Can't reccomend it enough.

Funny, funny movie! Even David Mamet screenplays seem tame after the deliciously excess language - which only gets funnier and funnier as it goes so far over the top.

Saw it recently. Weird film; one of those that you aren't sure of when you first see it, but over the course of the next few days you realize that it was a pretty damn good picture. The boxing fight was hilarious.
Have to say that the ending confused me a bit.

Just picked up the unrated DVD and I can confirm that it's funnier the second time you see it (I saw it opening night of it's theatrical run).

I wasn't all that impressed with it, to be honest. Bernie Mac was practically wasted, as was John Ritter. The constant--and I mean constant--swearing just got annoying after about 5 minutes. I liked the kid, and having Lauren Graham never hurts. Not something I plan on watching again anytime soon.

Chalk me up as another person who laughed my ass off at this flick.
Saw it back when it was in the theaters, and purchased it upon release. In these times my wallet is BEYOND starving, but this movie was well worth the purchase for me.
As for the "one joke" swearing thing...I'm not sure if I buy that, but if that's the case, I'd compare it to hearing swearing in South Park: Bigger, Longer, & Uncut. It just works for me. It never got old, and in this movie's case, it's stunning that at times Billy Bob is swearing right in front of children.
I agree that Bernie Mac was underused. John Ritter could have been used more but at least was good in what scenes he was involved in. "You people."......

Just saw this and boy was it not good at all. I read the hype and expecting it to be real funny, but all it was was a real let down. John Ritter stole every scene, I will say that. The rest of the movie was slightly humorful, but nothing hysterical. I like a good black comedy, but this movie just too morally depraved and humorless.

Re: Bad Santa
Finally saw it. Actually the Bad(der) Santa unrated version.
One of the funniest movies I have ever seen. Billy Bob Thornton may be a real life dick and probably slightly insane, but he nails this role. Tony Cox is also terrific as the criminal duo's mastermind. I can't remember the last time I belly laughed as much for an entire movie.

The original theatrical version is best imo, then the Unrated version. The "Director's Cut" is, wouldn't you know, the worst. He completely cuts out the boxing scene for Chrissakes.
