Anyone know the music playing at the beginning of Texas Chainsaw Remake?

It sounds haunting, I want to get it.

It's "Song to the Siren" performed by This Mortal Coil. It was also used in David Lynch's Lost Highway.

On the subject of the film itself, I hated the fact that this was being re-made, but watching the trailer actually gives me faith that it could be something special. Looks very, very creepy. Great atmosphere, and the environments look straight out of hell. I can't WAIT for this movie.

Trance remakes include:
Ratty - Sunrise
Lost Witness - Song to the Siren

The DJ Tiesto or Fable mixes of Song to the Siren are quite excellent.

Someone in the Music Forum also wondered about the song. Now I need to hear it and see that trailer. Where's everyone seeing it?

I talked with someone today that saw Freddy vs Jason and they said the TCM trailer wasn't played.

I saw it at my screening also..-shrugs-

I'm not sure what to make of this film. I don't think they need to remake it and from what I see in the trailer, they seemed to have changed a lot of key elements - namely the brother being a hitch-hiker...

At the same time though, the enviroments look great and haunting..

Tho' I have big complaint. THis movie is suppose to take place in the 70's and NONE of those kids look like they are from the 70's. They are not even remotely dressed like a bunch of kids from the 70's.

It figures they wouldn't go with the 70's angle. Don't want to turn off the current youngun's with such old looking fashions.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre TV Spots

Regarding the TV spots for the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, has anyone else recognized the voice of the narrator at the end of the spots? There are two distinct speakers at the end of the spots: one states the title and the other is Don LaFontaine's evil twin that states when the movie is opening. It's a small geek-treat for fans of the original movie.

I know one of the speakers is John Larroquette, the narrator of the original. I had a huge smile when I saw the tv spot last night on the internet and heard his narration.

Why Remaking Texas Chainsaw Massacre doesn't bother me

I've been wondering to myself for awhile why I'm not as bothered by this remake as I have been for others. I think it comes down to this... there have been 4 TCM movies prior to this 'remake'. There is the original of course, and it's 3 sequels. Part 2 is a true sequel, but what about the other two? Part 3 has little continuity with the previous films, with the exception of the Leatherface character. And part 4 is not only horrid, but it's pretty much a camped-up remake itself. In fact, all the sequels have essentially been 'remakes' of the original in the sense that there really isn't much of a storyline that is progressed in each installment. If you're going to complain about the original's vision being tainted, well, that was done years ago.

Doesnt bother me ether but what does bother me is that the movie sucks, why remake a movie if its totally butt compared to the original, did you know Tobe Hooper used 80% less money to make TCM then the Remake and the Remake is a wortless piece of garbage, never should have made this, gives a great movie a bad name.

Whats next The Excorcist remake?how about Halloween?

Doesn't bother me either. I'm going to see it tonight and I'm expecting a large crowd. I'm hoping I haven't wasted my money when I could have seen Mystic River or Runaway Jury. It can't be any worse than Kill Bill anyway.

The sequals were an insult to the legacy of the film

Whereas, the remake is a desecration of the legacy of the film

Which is worse?

A remake of TCM or a remake of Halloween?

I'd say Halloween is worse simply because without the artistry John Carpenter put into the first movie and the benefit of being fresh, it's just another slasher movie. But it's still not the end of the world, because after 7 Michael Myers films a remake is really just a sequel that resets the back story.

Does it really matter anyways? Is the origonal TCM a great work of film making to begin with? I guess it would be like remaking Friday the 13th part 1. Origonal not exactly an oscar winner.

The original wasn't all that great. I'm gonna try to go see the new one tonight. I don't care that there has been a remake. TCM with Renee Zelweger and Mathew McConnagheahshgahsahyay was a steamy pile. I liked 2 and 3 though... even better than the original.
