Re: The A24 Shop Exclusive Blu-ray / UHD Thread

I actually got two welcome packages for some reason. Not sure why. Same magazine and everything else. My other scratch card was a $5 coupon.

I rarely ever win anything so kind of cool to get the lifetime membership. If nothing else the yearly birthday gift sounds cool. Plus discounts and exclusives.

Whoa. I'd better go do my scratch card. In any case, thanks for the yearly invite, dex14, so I can get the new exclusives each Black Friday.

Re: The A24 Shop Exclusive Blu-ray / UHD Thread

I signed up with dex14's code. It's at least 1 month free why not? And it's only $5/month after that.

And they gave out a pass to see the A24 movie Y2K. Did everyone get that theater link? I used to to see it Friday afternoon.

Re: The A24 Shop Exclusive Blu-ray / UHD Thread

That’s one thing that stinks for me is that A24 only gives tickets for select theaters. The smaller theater in my town is playing Y2K but I can’t redeem my ticket there (or the larger theater for that matter).

A24 Shop has an exclusive, limited edition, letterboxed VHS for Y2K:

In mono? Isn't that overboard in the wrong way, given the time period?

Maybe that spec on the back cover isn't accurate. It also says that it's "formatted to fit your TV", which usually meant P&S, but this is actually letterboxed.

AAA24 members are getting $5 deposited into their accounts as store credit each month. Pretty nice perk.

Up to $25.
"As long as you’re an active member, credits do not expire. When your balance reaches $25, you won’t receive any new credits until your balance goes below $25."

Still useful. Can bank those in time for the 30% BF sale.

Also good to use any banked credits with any additional items you may want when you get your birthday gift because you get the free shipping.

I was commenting on the label on the actual cassette. I didn't see the back cover until I clicked the link after reading your post. Unfortunate little screwup.

Ah I missed that detail. Still though $25 is almost a Blu-ray or 4K.

Re: The A24 Shop Exclusive Blu-ray / UHD Thread

I'm thinking about buying an AAA24 membership as a Christmas gift for my daughter, who's a big fan of the studio. Seems like a lot of value for $100.
I was unaware of the service until I got an email yesterday.

I don't buy nearly enough from them to justify the membership fee.

Well it's a free movie ticket for every A24 release weekend, a $5/mo credit in the store and a quarterly zine. I don't need it because I'm a Stubs A-List member, but my daughter isn't. For her, those features alone should be enough to make it worth it for her, I'd think.

It's an even better value at $5/mo as a founding member.

My account screen shows me as a founding member, and I’m paying $5 a month, but I’ve never received a movie ticket or a monthly credit. Are there two different types of memberships?

Nope same. The free movie tickets are separate emails. I got one for Y2K last week, which I used. I got one for Queer this weekend.

You have to access the ticket via the "app": https://app.a24films.com/tabs/members

Because you won a "lifetime" subscription, I wonder if you may not earn these. Look here to see: https://aaa24.a24films.com/account/credit when your next update is.
