Well, I'd be buying it for the first two, do they at least look fairly good on a large display?

I only bought the Deserado SteelBook and haven't gotten around to watching it yet. I already own the old Sony Blu-ray for Mariachi and never want to watch the third movie again.

Shudder and Arrow are partnering, with discs starting to show p this summer. Demons Are Forever and Perpetrator are getting UK/US releases; Nightwatch, The Sadness, Deadstream, Speak No Evil, Huesera: The Bone Woman, and Hellbender are UK-only. The Sadness is getting the UHD treatment.

Anyone have their copy of The Cell yet? After lurking at that other forum there seems to be a video glitch at the 15:15 mark of the Directors Cut. I saw enough reaction in the comments that it made me cancel my preorder until I see if Arrow does anything about the video error.

Picked up the 4K of The Cell (2000) earlier this evening from my local Barnes & Noble B&M.

Haven't seen this film in quite a while and I look forward to re-visiting it when my schedule opens up for a bit.

Also picked up the 4K releases of Demolition Man (1993) & Hellraiser: Quartet of Torment as a part of the 50% off Arrow Sale.

Which version, blu-ray or 4K? I have the blu-ray on the way cause Amazon dropped the price to $18 last month.

I believe the video error is on both the 4k and bluray.

Is it one of those glitches you need to freeze frame and zoom in to see?

It's an editing mistake. Duplicate shots or something. Similar to the problems with the Arrow 12 Monkeys release.

The error on The Cell is on the director's cut, the theatrical cut is fine. Hopefully Arrow does a replacement. There is a rumor that Arrow is releasing both cuts of Dark City soon but I am at the point where I am not preordering anything from them in the future. I will wait for reviews.

Too bad I ordered it from the B&N sale rather than from Arrow directly during their next sale. When you order from Arrow, they just send you replacement discs without asking, I remember getting a replacement and then later a second replacement disc from them for 12 Monkeys.

Managed to pick up Demolition Man 4K LE through Amazon. It was backordered a few weeks, but finally came. For some reason, I never picked up this movie on any format DVD or BD. Not even digital.

I just watched Demolition Man, I thought the transfer seemed a bit softer than I'd like for 4K. I'm still waiting for my copy of Desperado to ship.

Apparently Frank Djeng is teasing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star for ShawScope vol. 4.

Finally, something different in one of these Shaw sets! I’m assuming this box will at last lean toward fantasy / sci-fi / maybe horror (?), and hopefully contain more contemporary stuff than period stuff. The break would be welcome. This one’s a good example of the kind of nonsense, slapstick-y ‘everything-but-the-kitchen-sink-and-probably-that-too’ comedy-action pictures that Hong Kong cranked out with abandon in the 80’s (in particular by Wong Jing, its director), basically a series of skits tied together by an ‘alien abduction’ subplot that puts the stunning Cherie Chung into some sexy outfits. Might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but at least it’s different.

It would be cool if Arrow could dig up original trailers for it, as this re-cut from the Celestial DVDs might be the only one out there currently:

Theme song video, with Chung lip-syncing to Elisa Chan’s vocals:

Re: The Official Arrow Films 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread

I've bought so many copies of these movies, but these finally look like the definitive versions. I can't wait to see the final specs on GBU. I'm hoping/expecting that the Italian theatrical cut is included in addition to the US theatrical version. I couldn't really care less if the MGM extended edition is included, but I wouldn't be mad if that was there too.

Horrible artwork. Yes I understand is keeping with the theme of the remake release.

I never understood the use of the chrome mask for JGTH covers. It’s not like Jason ever wore one. It’s not featured in the movie or anything.

I definitely want Jason X (fun, guilty pleasure) but I wonder if my collector's mentality can let me bypass Jason Goes To Hell?

Argh!

For those that want to see the specs but don't want to support X (the social media platform, not the Jason)
