Re: The Official Arrow Films 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
I finally cracked open my Elvira copy late last year and was impressed with the PQ and the extras. I bet this will just port over the same extras and bump up the PQ, so it is fortunately a pass for me. A true guilty pleasure favorite film of mine, anyone who is remotely considering watching this film gets lucky to be able to now pick it up as a 4K disc.

I finally got my deliver date on Friday the 13th 4k set of October 16th from Amazon. I hope if its a good release and it sells well maybe Arrow can get a hold of the rights to release Freddy vs. Jason in 4k.

For those that held out on KINO's discs, pre-order the Arrow release as soon as it's up. This is going to be a hot release.

Never did buy the KINO discs. Wonder if there will be that much of a difference in the transfers to pay more for the Arrow releases?

Bottom line is that Arrow is best in class when it comes to this stuff and I fully expect them to knock it out of the park if they have access to the proper materials. That would include getting the various edits of the films right and perhaps including the proper Italian cut of GBU to go along with the American version. (I couldn't care less if they included the extended cut).

Re: The Official Arrow Films 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Assuming Arrow are doing new transfers themselves, there should be a marked improvement over the Kino's. Kino did a solid job, but the Ritrovata transfers they were working with (for Fistful and GBU) were so thoroughly compromised that there were some issues with the color and the dynamic range that just could not be reversed. I presume HDR would be on the table as well?

I'll wait and see if David M. and Fidelity in Motion are doing the encodes. If they are, I am retiring the KL editions. FIM hits it out of the park every single time.

I haven't even finished watching my Sergio Leone DVD set of the 4 films, and I think there's been at least six more versions since that came out.

I'm definitely interested in Demolition Man. I want an extra explaining the three sea shells.😂

If I had not purchased the blu ray Critters box set from Shout on sale a few years ago I would be all over the Critters box set. I watched all the Critters films and even all the extras. Even the not great 3rd and 4th film get making of/behind the scenes docs. The first two really are wonderfully fun films to watch. I really like the artwork for the set too, but the blu ray PQ was actually pretty impressive so I will have to lust for this set from afar.
I say this a lot, but I really feel it is true, even not being in a position to buy or double-dip on some of these films in 4K, it is utterly fantastic that so many films/shows are indeed making their way to market with oftentimes high-quality 4k releases.

I feel like the scene in the first Terminator film fully encapsulates my feelings of December's releases:
"Well, which shall it be?"
"ALL."
I'm in for everything except The Last Video Store.

It was pretty obvious WB was never going to do anything special for Demolition Man with all the major studios focusing on digital. So glad they licensed it out to Arrow.

I almost bought the the Arrow The Addiction on BD a few weeks ago from Barnes and Noble during their half off sale. Glad I waited, I just noticed that the Critters is region B so I will have to pass. I just ordered The Addiction and Demolition Man on DiabolikDVD. I love that site.

I prefer OrbitDVD over DD. DD do come in clutch sometimes, though.

Friday the 13th (2009) 4K LE sold out pretty fast on Amazon when it dropped to $25 recently. I think it's being sold for $35 elsewhere. I already have the F13 BD box set. I don't like that movie enough to double dip at that price even in 4K.

I found the preorder for the Demolition Man 4k on Amazon and went ahead and placed my order. It was higher at $59.95 but it should be lower by the time it's released.
