Re: UHD release announcements
They’ve had the Raimi movies on sale many times, but it seems that the Amazing Spider-Man set - only 2 movies - is pretty damn high in price most of the time.

^ but the HDR is fucked on it. Only the Dolby Vision looks ok. It's worth noting in case someone doesn't have hardware that plays DV from a disc. None of the Xboxes or Playstations do, for example.

Fuck yes!
I was going to import the Studio Canal set because I do have Dolby Vision, but I’m assuming Shout will release it in that fancy set in partnership with Sacred Bones.

I can only imagine how bad all that lousy blue-screen SFX in Escape from L.A. will look in 4K.

Re: UHD release announcements
When HD first came out (and again with 4K), there seemed to be a lot of comments related to the movie effects not holding up to the higher resolution or actors looking older or whatever, as if those movies were presented in 320x240 when shown in the theaters.

Also, for anyone picking up Hard Target, there’s a replacement program. The UHD disc has the front left and right channels swapped.

I'll just use my headphones and flip it around. I actually had a cart ready to place an order from them, and just removed it. Not worth the headache for now.

Or the second or the third or the fourth, etc...
I guess they kind of get a pass because the volume with which they release titles means we have so many that would otherwise never make it to the format, but they truly are the worst.

Kino's really taking some major hits to their reputation with the frequency of these screwups and the way they respond.

Way too many discs this time of year are rushed out so Christmas shoppers can purchase them. Though you would think labels like Kino and Shout would have better quality checks in place before release.
