It’s not really accurate, though. There’s a pretty decent sized slate of titles being released every week. Next month, for instance, we’re getting a wide variety that includes stuff like Richard Pryor in concert, Somewhere in Time, A Beautiful Mind, Jacques Tati’s Playtime, Ben Hur, All the President’s Men, Network, and the first ever UHD release of an Obayashi film. It’s extremely eclectic, from classic westerns to a ‘70s movie about reggae to Nazisploitation.

Is Mystic River in UHD? Nope. But if we’d had this conversation six months ago, we could’ve said the same about One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and that’s no longer the case now. There’s a gargantuan number of movies to release and only so many titles that can be released at once for a market this size.

And looking at recent sales charts, you have things like Dogma, Boogie Nights, and Eyes Wide Shut among the top sellers. I’m just not seeing what PhantomStranger is describing.

Ninja Scroll anime film SteelBook LE to be released in early 2027. This is the first 4K UHD release from Sentai Filmworks.

I have the old 10th anniversary special edition DVD so I'm mildly interested.

Anime film is directed by Mamoru Hosoda. It wasn't well received in Japan. It's not doing great here either in the box office and it's still screening in theaters.

Coming May 12! Preorders for this 3-disc limited edition of Black Belly of the Tarantula are live now.

Preorders are up now through Ignite, ranging from $50 to $130 (!). I think I’ll wait for the retail edition.

Nothing really new with the extras but im sure it will look incredible. Ill be watching for the preorder and it seems to be a steelbook only release.

I have yet to buy any of these Disney produced physical media releases of Fox titles. I'll preorder as soon as it's available. I'm worried about the price and hopefully it's not something that's backordered for so long before I finally get a copy.

From what I read about Fight Club, it's going to be 4K HDR only. No Dolby Vision at Fincher's request.

Well then it'll be presented as Fincher intended so no reason to complain about that.

Haven't watched it in ages, but still rocking the DVD in the collection. That's a gorgeous steelbook, so it might be time to finally upgrade.

Can't wait to see what they do with the disc menu on that. Both the DVD and Blu-ray had different gags on them. It would be a shame if they didn't continue that tradition.
