As I'm sure they are with many here, these movies are pure nostalgia for me. I'm always reminded of hanging out with my best bud watching action movies (or the occasionally comedy) til all hours of the night when I was a kid.

Re: UHD release announcements
Question on the NOES 4k Set. This is one of my favorite horror franchises and I must confess that this release does not get me excited for a purchase. I dislike steelbooks, so that LE is not for me. For Chucky, Arrow did a nice box set with posters, booklet and bonus disc. F13 had a wonderful box set crammed with special features and bonus disc. And while Halloween didn't get a box set for the recent transfers, they were released with loaded extras, original cover art, and there were LE hard chip slipcases (for those into that). And for NOES, no booklet, no posters, and - for the SE edition - no cover art, no bonus disc, all housed in a case I would have expected from Mill Creek.
Is there any potential at all for a boutique label to come out later with an uber set that gives this franchise the deluxe treatment? Or is this the case of "sorry - this is the best you will ever get" scenario?
Appreciate thoughts in this matter.
Thank you.

WB declined to pimp out the NOES movies to Scream Factory several times over the years. They are not going to let them go, so the standard release coming up is probably it.

Re: UHD release announcements
sigh. thank you for that perspective. That is what I thought, too. Oh well. At least, I will wait until I get it on sale.
FWIW, Freddy deserves better...
fyi - I just read the synopsis of these films in this set on various sites. For NOES 5, they have it listed as a "pro-life horror film." Unbelievable.
"A Nightmare On Elm Street, Part 5: The Dream Child (1989)For the young people of Elm Street, the nightmare never ends! Once more Freddy returns from the grave for revenge, focusing on the dreams of the unborn child of the one girl who can stop him (that's right, a pro-life horror film)"

Memories is getting a 4K UHD release in Japan for its 30th anniversary (includes English subtitles). If Discotek Media retains the license, this will likely be an eventual release here (probably not for a while).
https://v-storage.jp/sp-site/memories30th/
https://v-storage.jp/catalog_news/259000/
Also to note on other possible anime releases, GKIDS should have 2 more releases before the year ends.
Perfect Blue
- 4K restoration screenings starts Oct 3 https://gkids.com/films/perfect-blue/
- home video release could be solicited very soon (probably not as fancy as the UK release)
Angel's Egg
- theatrical release starts Nov 19 https://gkids.com/films/angels-egg/
- home video release could be announce shortly after that (probably not as fancy as the AU release)

Also available in a steelbook. There's a new Q&A with PTA but all the extras look to be carried over from previous releases.

Ehh the steelbook cover is definitely better and can see some liking it but it doesn't do much for me. Will stick with the weird standard edition and save a few dollars. Thanks for the heads up. Was close to a rewatch but will wait til December now.

I almost always go for the Standard edition over the steelbook on movies if available but I might have to get the Steelbook for Boggie Nights. The one picture of Rollergirl as the Standard edition cover is kind of lame and doesn't make sense when she's not the main character.
